I hate that I have no motivation to complete my academic obligations (essays, papers, etc.)

Matthieu I'm supposed to be working on a paper that I'm scheduled to submit to a mathematics journal... Alas, I have no motivation to complete it. I also have an essay that I have to submit before tomorrow.

I'm sooo lazy all of a sudden.

Sometimes, some mornings, it's as if I can't get out of bed until I'm late enough to get a panic jump start. I try to baby step my way into getting up. I have three alarms set on my phone, so they ring three different rings, alternating every few minutes. I say, "okay, I'll sleep until I hear this ring again." And then I'll turn on the light and lay back down.

Matthieu I love your idea, Bun. I'm going to have a tea break.

Reads with Scotch I feel you Matt, if I wasn't being paid to participate in "higher" education then I don't think I would be able to self-motivate through it. Part of the problem is... it isn't really challenging and I am not really learning anything I don't already know. I'm basically getting a piece of paper confirming I know what I know. Maybe I should throw more "English" classes on my schedule :) That would be new and challenging.

Margarita Ohmg it's like reading myself! Same problem over here and same level of motivation :) And I hate it!

Kasia Hi, Margarita from France! We've been recently debating how to greet/haze new members. Any suggestions?

How you say in Polish "You're missing the point, chiquita"? You don't seem to get initiation - it's probably owing to the fact that I went too easy on you when you showed up.

Kasia "Nie czaisz tematu, młoda."

And you're probably right, I suck at this. I'm just too much of a chicken to lash out on an innocently looking Margarita here. Help?

I don't know - right off the top of my head, you could accuse her of pretending to be French, when she is, in fact, a high school student in northern Idaho.

Kasia Sounds vaguely familiar... I'm having a deja vu moment, weird.

Tom Foolery (tomfoolery) I could change my last name, if you like...

smetchie | 5729 comments Thank you Tom. If Margarita doesn't stick around that would be nice.

I recently learned in another group that I was making those Tom Collins wrong. And not just for myself or anything. I'm talking about when I was a bartender. How funny that no one ever complained!!

They must have been distracted by all those gray hairs.
gray hair is very distracting on Bartenders.
