Yes!
I'v pass one exam at college and just sat a mock exam yesterday for spreadsheets and passed.
Lee my tutor at college said to me yesterday that he would like me to have a go at CAD computer added design. one I finished and passed this course which will be fun.
I just sat a mock for GCSE English level 3 and I have got to hand it in on Monday. If I have done well Caroline my tutor, want me to sit the exam after Christmas. The English course is held at my local library in Beccles, it is for people like myself with Dyslexic and wants to better them self.

Sounds like it's going well Nick and I'm sure you'll do fine in the English GCSE too :-D

We use AutoCAD software in my office, is that the same as the CAD computer? If so you'll do fine on it, I manage to use it okay and I'm pretty useless with complex software like that!

cad is computer added design like designing buildings and things lol!

message 168: by Sam (new)

Sam (ecowitch) | 464 comments In that case yup that's what we've got, part of our office uses it for designing buildings the other half for designing the soft landscaping (I use it when I want to crash my computer and when engineers send me stuff in CAD when I asked for it in MapInfo). It's an interesting piece of software, I'll say that for it. Good luck with it, you should be fine if you haven't used other design or mapping software (unlike me who learned MapInfo first and now can't use CAD that well, it's all arranged funny in my eyes).

Oh, now there's a book I'd like to reread. I went through a John Fowles phase a few years ago... Loved The Magus too.

Em (emmap) | 2707 comments Where as I haven't read a single John Fowles, another one for the list then....

The 'to read' list just gets longer and longer! Mine has about 200 books at the moment. So, if I keep up the current pace, it will take at least 4 years to get through. That is, IF I stopped adding to it.....

....Unlikely!

message 172: by Em (new)

Em (emmap) | 2707 comments VERY unlikely!!

Lynne - The Book Squirrel (squirrelsend) | 3122 comments I have over 900 tbr here at home! Yes all the books listed here are physically in my house. I too have The Collector by John Fowles.

It was actually my first John Fowles book and was lent to me by a friend who loves this book (for all its weird perversion as she put it...and I'm inclined to agree) but he's on my list as an author to look out for in future (and so the to get/to try list grows ever longer).

Oh and...

144. The Coral Island by R.M. Ballantyne - finished 15/11/2010, 5*

Sam, I liked that about The Collector too - very twisted ;)

John Fowles' books are quite different in subject matter & even style, although they often have surreal elements. If you want to read more, I'd recommend The Magus and The French Lieutenant's Woman - they're his most famous for a reason....

Em (emmap) | 2707 comments There's your challenge for 2011 Lynne! I reckon I've got about 70 or so on my bookshelf that I'm yet to read but 900 - that's a whole different level!

Lynne - The Book Squirrel (squirrelsend) | 3122 comments I am going to challenge myself to read books from my TBR and not re-read my old favourites in 2011. It will mean a lot of will power though!!

That's a great idea Em, Lynne's 2011 challenege could be to read at least a third of her TBR pile without adding to it (now that would be a challenge!)

Oh and...
