A synopsis of the tournament from my point of view:
first game: meh, lost a game.
second game: must be a little unlucky.
third game: I'm bound to win at least ONE game.
fourth game: is bribery an option?
fifth game: FINALLY
so ya, I won 1 game, I'm just happy I didn't come in dead last.

Well, winning a game at State is a big deal... especially your first year.

You're the type of chess player that would keep getting better if you stick with it too, you know?

And, I'm not opposed to my chess students offering an occasional bribe... Did that last kid try to buy you off with a bribe? I'm glad you didn't take it... unless you bribed him/her... in which case, don't tell...

No, I didn't bribe them, and Ivan won 1 game also, and Ben won 3, I think. umm, at like 8:10 AM I think.

I took notation for 4 games, forgot to take notation for the second game, but I deny playing the first 4 games. and for one game, My queen got taken by a knight, I just wrote probably 5 question marks and circled it about 10 times.
