You didn't spell anything wrong. You did an outstanding job. : )
You can try writing in italics now... just write the letter i instead of the word spoiler. ... or b for bold
Watch me mess up for fun: ... i mean b>bold... oh, I'll never get it. bold...> huh...

My response to Jimmy's famous last words in message 406: how about posting a link?
(a href="http://www.goodreads.com")my link text(/a)
with carrots at all the places instead of parenthesis... "my link text" means the words you want to appear... for instance, if you were linking to the trailer to the new "I Am Number Four" movie... a book I just recently read and liked quite a bit... you may want to use the words, "I Am Number Four" instead of "my link text" for the actual link, just replace the current http://goodreads.com
And there you have it. I'm going to create a new thread for linking to movie trailers of books we liked... adios.

ok... i was wrong... they can be in any order... you just have to make sure you have all the slashes. right?
bold or it's not undone... this should be undone...

first game: meh, lost a game.
second game: must be a little unlucky.
third game: I'm bound to win at least ONE game.
fourth game: is bribery an option?
fifth game: FINALLY
so ya, I won 1 game, I'm just happy I didn't come in dead last.
Well, winning a game at State is a big deal... especially your first year.
You're the type of chess player that would keep getting better if you stick with it too, you know?
Did everybody else win a game too?
And, I'm not opposed to my chess students offering an occasional bribe... Did that last kid try to buy you off with a bribe? I'm glad you didn't take it... unless you bribed him/her... in which case, don't tell...
What time did you get there? (So many questions... I have more, but I'll leave it at that.)

Dude, that's fine. I mean, seriously... I bet there were a bunch of kids there that didn't win any.
Did you spend the night at a hotel? If so, how did that go?
Do you know how Joel and Nathan did?

Cool. Well, thanks for the update. I hope you took notation that way Abigail feels vindicated. : ) (And if you did, did you write, "the end is near" after any specific move?)
And now you're rated too. I've always wanted to be rated, but I've been too... ummm... I don't know, self-conscious about it now that I'm 29 and not exactly a chess powerhouse...
Once you get really good, you'll have to coach me an show me all my horrible glaring errors.

Now, we can use this stuff when we
