i think has to be HF unless otherwise specified
Sorry Jayme, I do have to sleep sometime! LOL
Jon is right, it would have to be fictional. For the ones that say "book" instead of "HF" I'll allow NF, because it doesn't specify, but this one does say HF.

Toni, as far as classics go, I'm pretty open on that score as well. Something everyone has heard of is pretty broad, because everyone's heard of Twilight, but I wouldn't call it a classic. :P
But let's say, for definition purposes, that a classic for the challenge would be something written before 1950.
I don't know if ICTC would count, not because it's not a classic (I think it is) but because I am pretty sure that it was contemporary when it was written.

YAY!! I'm so glad you loved both! Thought you would. I thought movie was visually stunning in some scenes.
Oh yeah. I haven't seen the movie in ages, but when Sayuri and the Chairman are walking through the cherry blossoms, it's sooooo stunning and beautiful on screen. I want to line my hallway with cherry trees so that I can walk through them every day! LOL
I'm happy that you loved this book, H. I had a feeling you would! :D

I don't remember the casting much, aside from Sayuri (which I think is a beautiful name...) being Chinese instead of Japanese. Not that it matters much. It's still a wonderful movie.
