Jackie (thenightowl) | 2033 comments I was trying to mix the list with some stuff that I own but it's kind of hard trying to determine where a book fits when you know nothing about it.

I felt the same way Heather. I remember reading The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe in grade school and really loving it, but then when I reread the entire series as an adult, I was a touch let down. I expected the rest of the stories to be just as good as I remembered LW&W to be... They were OK, but not wonderful.

Jayme(theghostreader) (jaymetheghostreader) | 3120 comments Yeah i am getting that feeling but in the end "Magician's Nephew ended up being pretty good. I LOVE ASLAN! I am reading "The Horse and His Boy" and I am liking Bree, the war horse. I wanted more stories about the Peniseive kids. I am watching Prince Caspian too.

Lyn (Readinghearts) (lsmeadows) Heather - I just got back from taking my son back to college, which is a 9 hour drive one way. It is a beautiful drive, but by the third or fourth time you do it, it gets a little long. It is easy to finish a book when you are stuck in a car for two days.

Yeah, I noticed that. Bad Mod! =\

OK, so who has already figured out their tasks for 25.1 - Jan/Feb/Mar?

Should I change the task? I'm thinking of a length task instead maybe - 1 book each from the 2, 4, & 6 point bonus levels?

Any thoughts? This would definitely give more flexibility than trying to figure out when a book you haven't read takes place.

Yea or Nay?

Jayme(theghostreader) (jaymetheghostreader) | 3120 comments I think you should change the task. The length book task sounds okay.

message 85: by ToniS (new)

ToniS I vote for changing the jan/feb/march thing. I don't even know where to start looking for that.

message 86: by Becky, Moddess (new)

Becky (beckyofthe19and9) | 3034 comments Mod
Ok... I'll go ahead and change it. If anyone does NOT want it changed and would rather do the Jan/Feb/Mar task still, I will count the points either way.

Is that fair?

Jayme(theghostreader) (jaymetheghostreader) | 3120 comments sounds fair to me

Lyn (Readinghearts) (lsmeadows) Fair, but probably not necessary. I much prefer the 2, 4, 6 point one.

message 89: by Becky, Moddess (new)

Becky (beckyofthe19and9) | 3034 comments Mod
Probably, but you never know. Someone here could be a challenge purist and/or glutton for punishment and want to do all of the original tasks. LOL

message 90: by Becky, Moddess (new)

Becky (beckyofthe19and9) | 3034 comments Mod
Not that that's a bad thing. :P

message 91: by ToniS (new)

ToniS Heather: sure. do I list it as my buddy read if we do that or no? can it be your buddy read and my something else?

Becky (beckyofthe19and9) | 3034 comments Mod
Toni wrote: "Heather: sure. do I list it as my buddy read if we do that or no? can it be your buddy read and my something else? "

Yes - but then you'll have to do YOUR buddy read task with another person. LOL

message 93: by Becky, Moddess (new)

Becky (beckyofthe19and9) | 3034 comments Mod
Well, I envisioned the buddy read working either of two ways:
1) you both read the same book - bam! Done.
or 2) Person A marks reads Person B's task whatever with Person B as Person A's buddy read, and then Person B reads Person C's task whatever with them as Person B's buddy read, etc.

That sounds confusing.

message 94: by Chris (new)

Chris Haught (haughtc) I think I'd go with 1)

message 95: by Becky, Moddess (new)

Becky (beckyofthe19and9) | 3034 comments Mod
LOL Umm, how were you going to do it?

message 96: by Becky, Moddess (new)

Becky (beckyofthe19and9) | 3034 comments Mod
No you can do that... but if she wanted to use that book for a different task than the buddy task she'd just have to read another book with someone for hers. You know what I mean?

message 97: by Becky, Moddess (new)

Becky (beckyofthe19and9) | 3034 comments Mod
OK then. :)

message 98: by ToniS (new)

ToniS That all sounds very complicated. I didn't have a buddy read picked as of yet. So if you want to just coordinate the start of that book when we're both ready to read, that's fine. I know I'll read that one, so it's a safe bet for you. Right now I'm on page 12 of 1156 in The Far Pavilions, so it might be a couple of weeks.

Alternatively, I looked at your TBR list and you have "The Snow Flower and the Secret Fan," which I have been wanting to read. So if you want to keep it clean and easy, I'd read that with you, too.

Jayme(theghostreader) (jaymetheghostreader) | 3120 comments Toni that's on my list too. I haven;t read it yet. Would you pair up with me to read it? I don't have anything lined up for that.

message 100: by ToniS (new)

ToniS OK, Jayme. So I will read Snow Flower with you, and Heather can read Silent in the Grave with me and then we're all covered.
