I read Two Stars, which is largely about Elizabeth Taylor, with a small piece on Marilyn Monroe. Can I add Elizabeth Taylor? Technically not a character, but she's the subject of the book...

This one's pretty easy though - most books have several characters to choose from, whereas with titles, publishing dates, and authors your choices are very limited.

It was also suggested that you try novels set in China or with Chinese characters, as you get quite a few names that start with 'X'.

Ok, this is going to be cheating so it doesn't count as a legitimate attempt. I'm reading the books in the Troy trilogy by David Gemmell and it felt as if you could do a complete A-Z challenge from the characters in the first book.

I'm now on the second book and want to see if that's true, so I'm going to use all the characters I come across in the second book.
