Me too! They are so expensive, especially when all I do is scan through them. Now, my hubby reads everything in his mags (sometimes more than once) so he gets his money's worth. :)

Shannen my hub goes through them multiple times too. Over and over and over and he never throws them away. He has mustang magazines from 1995 when we were only 8 years old!! Why he needed car magazines when he could not drive I will never know. He is a crazy person.
They are both crazy! My hubby saved all his mags (we're older than you) and I just got to a point where I couldn't stand all the boxes of mags stacked in our closet, shop, etc. He can now keep two months of each out in the living room and two years in the closet. Gotta go through books and do the same thing. I have books that I know I will never read again and others that I now have on Kindle.
Hi my name is Crystal and I live in Virginia. I am also new to this group. I love YA, mostly fantasy series books. I Recently read the first two books in the Darkest powers series by Kelley Armstrong and I am now waiting for the third book from the library. I also absolutely LOVE the Iron Fey Series byJulie Kagawa andHex Hall by Rachel Hawkins. My Husband always kids me about reading YA Fiction.. He saying Crystal your 29 years old why are you reading those kids books? I tell him because they make me happy and they give me something to do while your playing your Xbox!! ha ha ha. :-) I am really excited about joining this group and I look forward to having great discussions and getting some good book recommendations. Until then, Cheers!
Welcome, Crystal! I'm also a fan of the Darkest Powers trilogy. You'll find lots of recommendations here. :)

I'm 42 and just got back into it and am having a blast! Lots of great stuff to read to my son later on. :)
Welcome!
What's the difference between you reading YA fiction and your hubby playing the Xbox? ;)
Lloyd wrote: "PS: I also play Lego games with my son on the Xbox. :)"I guess I'm a big kid at heart! :)
I read almost solely YA so I am too, Lloyd! :)
Hello (Insert names here)! I'm sorry I didn't say hi to you! Welcome to the group! I love YA and PR! Hubby grimaces at my book, but he knows better than to say anything :P Hahaha.
YA tends to touch on a variety of subjects that you won't always find in adult material, so I really enjoy reading a mix of both adult and YA.My husband doesn't say anything to me anymore about the books. He knows that if I'm reading, it means that he has full control of the remote.
Lloyd wrote: "PS: I also play Lego games with my son on the Xbox. :)"YA is my favorite genre and I play lego games, along with many others, on Xbox and I don't have any kids. :)
And welcome everyone!!!
Thanks everyone for the nice Welcome!:-) Yes, I love YA and read it most of the time. I do read some adult fiction, but I always end up coming back to YA. Hahaha, Stacia! Yeah my Husband has learned the same thing... If I am reading he has full reign of the TV. Shannen, that is exactly what I have asked him! He can never come up with a good explanation ;-)...lol. I think he just likes to tease me...it's all in good fun and we both know we need our relaxation time.. Me with my books and him with his Xbox! :-)
Hi! I'm Christina and I'm 23. I recently graduated college with an Elementary certification, which gives me a lifelong excuse to read young adult and children's literature!!! Some of my favorite YA authors are Cynthia Voigt, Tamora Pierce, Philip Pullman and J.K. Rowling.
Hi everyone! I'm new and always looking for book recommendations. My fav's are On the Jellicoe Road, Unwind, Strange Angels Series is AWESOME, The Mortal Insturments was good, I really like The Darkest Powers series. I know I'm probably leaving out a ton....I have issues with not finishing a book, I HAVE to finish it, regardless of whether it's good or not. There has only been 2 books I can remember not finishing, and that was The DaVinci Code and Evernight series.
I'm in. How can I not join a YA group when I love Harry Potter and Hunger Games? I look forward to hearing about other series and authors. Happy Reading everyone!
Hello all! I'm always excited to find more YA lit groups! I'm a middle school library media specialist with a passion for YA lit!!! I just love to read it and talk about it. I have an addiction to buying YA books too. My bookshelves are ridiculously full. It makes ordering books for my school library so much fun!! In YA lit my favs are anything by John Green, Tamora Pierce and Melissa Marr. Of course I can't leave out The Hunger Games. I read all different genres. I also like graphic novels and manga. Thanks to Rachel for inviting me to join :)

I've lived my entire life in God’s Country – otherwise known as northern Louisiana. I use funny words like “ya’ll” and “are you shitting me?” all the time, much to my friend’s amusement.
I'm proud of my southern accent and use it along with my flamboyant personality to get my way, which works most of the time.
I'm lucky enough to have a husband who works hard to allow me to stay home and disappear into realms of the unknown with my writing.
I have two full manuscripts finished and keeping the dust bunnies under my bed comfortable until they find other homes.
I've recently had a short story published in KINGS OF THE REALM: A DRAGON ANTHOLOGY by Lame Goat Press entitled ANNWENN. My first full length novel, Visions Awake, will be published by Black Rose Writing on August 19, 2010.
I love to read – do it all the time, even in the bathtub – and can be found lurking on twitter, facebook and myspace entirely too much.
The most recent YA books I've read are:L. J. Smith's entire Night World Series, All three Twilight books by Stephenie Meyerand Melissa Marr's Wicked Lovely Series. Hush, Hush and Crescendo by Becca Fitzpatrick are in my TBR pile.

Hi everyone! I"m new to this group! My name is Tammy and I'm a high school teacher. I am working on my Master's in Library Science and I hope to be in a school library next year!I read YA almost exclusively. I "discovered" YA through Twilight, of course, but I found that I love the plots of YA books. In particular, I like paranormal fiction. I"m excited about being part of this group!

Diana Wynne Jones and Philip Pullman are two of my favorite authors. I love their books.
Hello all! I'm Valmore. C.S. Lewis got me hooked on fantasy at an early age, and I never looked back. Even as an adult, I enjoyed reading Heinlein's YA stuff and I still consider Piers Anthony's Xanth series to be YA (even though some of it has some stronger themes). I read a lot more adult SF&F now, but when a good YA comes along, I devour it. My daughter is trying to get me into the Pendragon series, but I have to finish with Mr. Harry Potter first. :)
