I'm pretty sure I won't be able to meet my goal. That's what I get for setting one! Oh well. It's not over till December 31st!!!

100 books means finishing a book in about 3 1/2 days, or between 8 and 9 book a month. That's a lot of reading for anybody. Over 80 is a fantastic achievement!

I have the advantage over a lot of people in that I can read at work (without penalty) if it's not busy, and also read quite quickly under ordinary circumstances. Life gets in the way of reading!

Last year I hit over 100 with no problem. I wasn't even trying. But we didn't have the internet...so that has taken a LOT of my time. lol I would LOVE to read at work! I get an hour lunch so I read for a bit during that time unless I have errands to do. Otherwise it waits till I get home and 3 kids tends to consume me. lol

Crisis Centers have relatively few actual crises, mostly it's a parade of cold, homeless junkies trying to lie their way into three hots and a cot by using the "s" word. They take up a lot of time I would otherwise spend reading. I don't mean to give the wrong impression, every now and again I get to deal with someone who is actually seriously mentally ill that I can help.

Didn't get that extra book in. I tried to finish The Sweet Scent of Blood but something about her writing style irritated me. I'll try again next year. lol
