Debbie, I've read the first three in Nalini Singh's Psy-Changeling series and really enjoyed them. I hope you enjoy it. I know they can little heavy on the sci-fi for some, but if you enjoy sci-fi mixed with romance it shouldn't bother you at all.

Debbie (db_debber) | 2757 comments I haven't read all that many of the sci-fi romance, just The Host, and a couple of Gena Showalters Alien Huntress', but if it is a romance, I am game. Besides, the synopsis sounds good. Thanks for the input.

Ari (moochew12) | 159 comments Hi Kasia! I just finished "Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day " I can see how it'd be fun listening to it on audio, I may just check that out. I really enjoyed it. Miss Pettigrew is such a(funny) character. I love how she didn't know she was supposed to take action for say--Tony but she somehow turned him around. The socking was also funny too, I guess that's an easy way to get rid of "ice cream". That must have been a life-changing day! Thanks for the recommendation!!=D

message 105: by Kasia (new)

Kasia Glad you've liked it! "Sock him in the jaw" that was hilarious, I agree. So daring, so rude and yet so innocent - I love the woman, and it was such a touching story.

Wendy (wendyfraser65) | 772 comments PhotoJim, finished Simply sinful by Carly Phillips. A lovely light read which was all I was in the mood for. Thanks for the recommendation =)

message 107: by Annie (new)

Annie (themadnessofhamsters) Hi LibraryLass - just finished The Duke And I - thanks for the recommendation. Another series I'll probably end up reading all the way through (& ignore what I should be reading).
I enjoyed the fact that there was a real family feeling - and it wasn't serious. I'm sure I would also have been hiding in the back of the ballroom, avoiding eligible bachelors & bachelor-hunting mother, too.
I've just requested The Viscount Who Loved Me, and I'm still waiting for End of the Alphabet to come in!

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Jan,

My son LOVED Night Falls Darkly and so now maybe I can have a go at it. LOL It will take a couple weeks though. Now I'm swamped with other things and challenges. He's requested So Still The Night so that is a good sign!

Your Welcome Annie, this series is wonderful. I have the whole series and will get around to re-reading them someday soon. =)

The Viscount Who Loved Me is winging its way to my library as I type... yay!

Debbie (db_debber) | 2757 comments Katherine, what a pick that was.... I so enjoyed reading your recommendation of Slave to Sensation, I gave it 4+ stars and a positive review.
I liked it so much that I have already located the second. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.
This type of book fits perfectly with what I like. I am even more curious to read some of your other recommendations now.

I just finished Morrigan's Cross. I enjoyed it very much and will definitely read next book in the Circle trilogy. Thank you so much for a great pick!

Yz the Whyz (whyz) | 9327 comments The Circle trilogy, so far, is my favorite among Nora Roberts trilogies.

Aren't the characters just cool? : )

message 116: by Annvelwis (new)

Annvelwis | 671 comments I don't have an opinion about Moira and Cian yet, but I liked Hoyt very much - he reminded me of Lucas from Kelley Armstrong's Women of the Otherworld. And I simply can't wait to read Larkin and Blair's story.

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments Annie, I finally got around to reading Beguilement. I certainly enjoyed it. However, I hate the fact that it is not a self contained story. Yes, Ive ordered the second book. grrr. Another series that I've started!

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Jan, I finally get to read Night Falls Darkly. I'm only on page 52 and already I can't put it down! I am seldom impressed with the first book in a series, but this one started out good and is just getting better.

I hope it keeps up this pace!

@Yz: Good! I hope you enjoy it! :)

@Amanda: I finally started Pleasure Unbound. The beginning almost turned me off when the H/h started doing it within the first 25-30 pages. I had a strong UGH reaction and had to put it down. But since I hate to leave a book unfinished, I picked it back up and "soldiered" on through the scene LOL! It started to get much better after that; so if the action and story progression are consistent, I think this promises to be a good read. :)

Yz the Whyz (whyz) | 9327 comments Mary,

"Soldier" on with the book, Pleasure Unbound. It is a great series. And you have to "forgive" the rather early "getting down and dirty". After all, hero is an incubus; it sort of goes with his job description. : )

Yes, it did get much better! Once I got past my squick reaction, the story picked up the pace nicely. I love an action-packed story, and I'm really enjoying all the developing characters... lots of fodder for a nice long, juicy series. I'm almost done with it, and I've already purchased the rest of the books that are out LOL! Just what I need, another series to read. ;)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Jan, I finished Night Falls Darkly and LOVED it! Thank you for recommending it!

No I haven't. I'm about all challenged out right now. Not enough hours in the day for all I want to get done and read.

LibraryLass - I'm blaming you! I finished An Offer From a Gentleman around 10pm last night - but then just had to read Romancing Mister Bridgerton straight away! I was dying to read Colin & Penelope's story.

Yz the Whyz (whyz) | 9327 comments Mary,

Finished Faith Hunter's Skinwalker today. It took me a while to warm up to the heroine, and to the author's writing style (plenty of details using incomplete sentences). However, as I progressed I started to like Jane and I got caught up with the mystery of who is the rogue killer.

Thanks for the recommendation. Will definitely add the 2nd book to my TBR list. :)

Rossy (naughtybookjunkie) | 2192 comments Mrs. Soule, I finally finished The Unsung Hero by Suzanne Brockmann. Thank you for such a great recommendation. The characters were really great, i didn't even want to slap the main heroine at all. *_*

You have truly reminded me how much i enjoy this genre of books. I'll continue the series because am anxious to know who ends up with whom, from some of the characters introduced. I will also try the other series you recommended later.

Yay! I'm so glad to hear you're liking it. It was my first Garwood read and it's still one of my favorite books.

SO glad you enjoyed this one, Yz! I must admit, I struggled a tad with the "voice" of the book at first (what my brain considered grammatical errors). But the story eventually overcame that for me and I stopped noticing it.

Yeah, I noticed that when I pre-ordered it. There is a lot of talk recently on e-reader forums about publishers purposely delaying digital versions of new releases to increase DTB sales (months, in some cases). I guess they are counting on readers wanting a title so badly, that they will buy a hard copy when it initially drops, and then maybe following up with a digital purchase? Whatever the reason, it sucks.

tosca (catatonichataholic) | 742 comments Yz - finally finished The Book Thief today. Cutting it a bit fine because it's 31st Jan here in NZ. It was a tough one! Not tough to read but a tough read. So many times I kept re-reading parts of it because it was just so beautifully written or so poignant. The idea of Death as a narrator took me a while to get used to but I quickly found that he added a bit more personality to characters. I loved Hans Hubermann as a character.
! Esp at the beginning where Liesel first comes to their home - the way he connected with her at the start made me weepy. Then I just continued to be weepy for the rest of the book. I may put this one on my top 10 'serious' list for this year.

I'm happy you enjoyed it. I actually cried listening to it(in the last part)...yes, listened, I got it in audiobook format, and it was beautifully narrated.
