I have 3 or 4 books going at all times, too. I'm also a mood reader (and an emotional one), too, but I hadn't really considered whether the stories were similar of the books that I have going. That's interesting to me. Maybe subconsciously I am getting there anyway. I'll have to keep an eye out on how I select books.

Th..."I always have several books going, one on audio, one at work, one at home (or more) and I try to have different styles and eras so they don't run together in my mind. Also I just like variety, I enjoy mysteries, romance, literary fiction, some nonfiction, but if I read/listen to too many of the same in a row, I don't appreciate them as much.
I have just started The Black Count, about the father of the writer Alexandre Dumas. Sometimes I have trouble staying interested in non-fiction on audio, but his life was so dramatic that is more like fiction.
Just began The Weird Sisters by Eleanor Brown. As the youngest of three sisters (there's 3 in this story), I looked forward to the dynamics going on among them. Plus, the Shakespeare connections are quite nice.

Picked up an interesting "foodie" book at the library....
. Light reading about the origins of common foods.
I am slowly reading
. I am really enjoying the book, especially since I got to spend a weekend in Paris with my younger son and my sister in November, and it is helping me to relive some of our adventures.I am also reading
. I devoured the "Fever" series by Moning, and this is a spin-off of that. It is purely "guilty pleasure" reading, but I need it to help me get back in a reading groove.
Reading The Glass-Blowers by Daphne du Maurier and listening to Elizabeth the Queen: The Life of a Modern Monarch by Sally Bedell Smith.
Started
on audio. I've had it for a while, but when I saw Sera and Kokeshi gave it great reviews, I had to get going with it. Great reader.

Lynn, looks like you are in the midst of some very interesting books.I am starting
on audio tomorrow and
tonight.

on audio and liked it very much. I hope you enjoy it. I still have to get to "Beautiful Ruins"...I only hear good things about it.

BR is going really well. I think that I am going to like it a lot.

Starting
. I started it once before, but had to take it back to the library before I got too far in it. This time I'm starting it earlier than the due date :)
I know that I am probably the last person on planet to be reading this but, I just started
and I am really enjoying it! I will be curious how the movie holds up....nope, I haven't seen that yet either as I have been too busy reading! :-)

Lynn, I haven't heard of the first two. You'll have to let us know how they are.I am starting Ragtime
. It's my first Doctorow book, and I think that I am really going to enjoy it.

."I enjoyed the first two "Bookman" books several years ago. Both novels were put together and offered in a single book format. I enjoyed the fact that you didn't have to think, but could just go on and read the next in the series. I did not get to this one, though. Did you read the first two in the series? I am not familiar with the other books you mentioned.
