Sera | 1325 comments I have 3 or 4 books going at all times, too. I'm also a mood reader (and an emotional one), too, but I hadn't really considered whether the stories were similar of the books that I have going. That's interesting to me. Maybe subconsciously I am getting there anyway. I'll have to keep an eye out on how I select books.

I always have several books going, one on audio, one at work, one at home (or more) and I try to have different styles and eras so they don't run together in my mind. Also I just like variety, I enjoy mysteries, romance, literary fiction, some nonfiction, but if I read/listen to too many of the same in a row, I don't appreciate them as much.
I have just started The Black Count, about the father of the writer Alexandre Dumas. Sometimes I have trouble staying interested in non-fiction on audio, but his life was so dramatic that is more like fiction.

Lisa Hickman (lbhick) | 986 comments I am slowly reading The Greater Journey Americans in Paris by David McCullough . I am really enjoying the book, especially since I got to spend a weekend in Paris with my younger son and my sister in November, and it is helping me to relive some of our adventures.

I am also reading Iced (Fever #6, Dani O'Malley #1) by Karen Marie Moning . I devoured the "Fever" series by Moning, and this is a spin-off of that. It is purely "guilty pleasure" reading, but I need it to help me get back in a reading groove.

Yay! The reader of this book is great. Although the book is dark, I found myself laughing aloud quite a few times. I hope that you enjoy it, Betsy!

The Yellow Birds is good on audio, but it makes me sad to think about the fallout of these young men and women who have fought in the Iraq and Afghan wars.

BR is going really well. I think that I am going to like it a lot.

I enjoyed the first two "Bookman" books several years ago. Both novels were put together and offered in a single book format. I enjoyed the fact that you didn't have to think, but could just go on and read the next in the series. I did not get to this one, though. Did you read the first two in the series? I am not familiar with the other books you mentioned.
