I put Danielle Steel's and MHC's newest on reserve but have along wait. I also put Sparks newest which is Last song but I think I read it already when it came out I need to double check in my journal.

That's impressive Barbara! Do you know how many books you read last year?
I just finished #78 with Immortal in Death. I have Rapture in Death already waiting. I see I'm not the only one who's currently enjoying these books! I actually listened to most of this one and the audio is really good! Peabody's voice is a little weird, but so far this was the best audiobook I've heard (my experience is fairly limited though).

but as you are a head thats o as by this month if we have 12 per month as an ideal to achieve 144 you should have read at least 48
So with 50 you are ahead
I hit #61 early this morning (i'm working nights this week) and currently have 5 other books in various stages of being complete (can you say book ADD) - so I should hit #62-66 by the end of the week and then adding read-a-thon books - i'm hoping for 50% by the end of the first week of May (barring any real life schtuff)

To which I then respond--NAH, can't spend too much time reading. :o)

Thanks, Afsana. I managed to do it, finishing another book on Thursday. Which means, I averaged 12 books per month, so I am on track. Trouble is, I don't think I'll get twelve read this month, and that'll put me behind. *sigh* I just can't win, LOL!

There should be abother read athon for this month I think so would be a chance to keep on track. Am on 61 and 62

thats when you need plenty of audio's!!!

I also, don't get rid of books. My husband always jokes when I say I want our new house to have a library, that our house IS a library.

Book burning parties might be followed by threw husband out parties. He better watch the suggestions as he is navigating in dangerous territory. There be dragons and giants where he's walking.

Donna, that is his threat. He would NEVER do it, because he would be worried what I would throw out that was his. I am sure I would pick a "prized possession" to toss out.

ohh good - i can't wait to read it!

But I do love my grandkids. The boys came over yesterday and weeded my brick terrace for me. Then we all (hubby and the 3 grands) went out to Golden Corral for dinner. Then I spent the night over at daughter's house. The oldest grandson is allergic to cats--or something in my house, so they can't stay here. The dr's say that grandson's sensitivity is a result of the chemo and radiation and surgeries he'd had (he was diagnosed with cancer 1 month before his 5th birthday.) I'm not sleeping well as a result, so I'm barely able to stay awake much less read.
But then again--I am ssooo far ahead of schedule that it's really not a prob.

that waas nice of th co to pay to send your daughter as well and will b nice for them to have a break
enjoy the grandkids the books will wait. You are ahead so nothing to worry -you could afforcd not to read for a fe months and still be ok

Well, I'm not doing so hot. Haven't made much progress on reading in almost a month. I've been reading, just not fast enough, or finishing anything. Though my current reads ( [image error] and

Not much I can do about work stress, though things might calm down soon. I have a call into a holistic doctor to see her about my allergies/exhaustion - of course she couldn't see me for another month! But hopefully getting off of anti-histamines will help the exhaustion. At any rate, I'll get a lot more reading done if I'm not passing out for hours after work!
I am trying to add more reading time to my day, and trying not to play video games for as long during my free time too ;) I still have my eyes on the prize! I doubt I'll be hitting 144 . . . seeing as I'm at, um, 11?, right now . . . with 8 months of the year to go . . . I'd have to read something like 16-17 books a month. Eeep! I'll be super happy if I can get above 50 for the year though. That'll kick some major reading butt compared to my prior years of reading!
