"Could you not shout?" Alek groaned, putting his hands over his ears.

"I'm sorry," Sabrina said, slapping a hand over her mouth and looking guilt-stricken.
"It's just a headache," Alek said, trying to soothe her guilt. "One I brought on myself. I'm not saying don't tell me how stupid the idea was; just say it a couple of decibels lower."

"I'm going to go. I promise I won't kill anyone on my way. I'm sorry." Sabrina said, then she turned and ran in a totally different direction than the one she'd been heading in or the one she was coming from, ultimately ending up at the top of a tree she couldn't have hoped to have climbed just the day before.
Alek sighed and teleported, sitting on a branch just a few feet bellow her, leaning heavily against the trunk.
Sabrina had her head propped up on her knees with her arms around them. "You weren't supposed to follow me." she said.
"Vampire and Warlocks aren't supposed to exist," Alek shrugged.
Sabrina flicked a leaf - the lightest thing around so that if she accidently overdid it, it wouldn't hurt him too much - at him and said, "You know that's not what I meant. And I keep apologizing because I almost killed you."
"Yea I do," Alek said. "My point still stands. Lots of stuff happens that isn't supposed to."
"Yeah, like your girlfriend lunging for your jugular." Sabrina muttered.
"Actually, depending on how kinky someone is..." Alek joked.
Sabrina pressed her lips together, but after about a second she laughed anyway. "Stop it." she said, smiling.
"I can't stop being this awesome," Alek said, with a smile of his own. "It just happens."
"God, I love you," Sabrina sighed, running a hand through her hair.
"I tend to have that effect on people," Alek said, beaming up at her.
"I love you even though you're full of crap." Sabrina amended jokingly, with a playful smile.
Alek laughed, then put a hand to his head and winced. Despite some color returning to his face he still felt like he had been hit by a bus.
Sabrina's smiled immediately vanished, and she watched him worriedly.
"I'm okay," Alek said, reassuringly. "I just need some water." He used magic to create a large bottle of water next to him on the branch.
"...What did you mean when you said 'again'?" Sabrina asked.
"I have no idea what you talking about," Alek said.
"You kept saying 'Not again'. When I asked you why you had Carlisle make me a vampire, you said, 'I'm sorry. I couldn't, not again.' What were you talking about?" Sabrina asked.
"You were in a lot of pain," Alek said. "You must have been hearing things."
Sabrina eyed him skeptically for a second, then shrugged and accepted what he said as the truth. "Alright, I guess I must have." she agreed.
Alek nodded and rested his head against the tree. After a minute his breathing hitched and his eyes slid shut while he lost consciousness and slumped forward. The weight shift causing him to fall out of the tree, banging against several other branches as he fell.
Sabrina reacted before she was even consciously aware that she'd chosen to do so; she jumped from the branch she was sitting on, and caught Alek before he was even halfway down the tree, continuing their fall while avoiding the branches before landing and setting him down gently. "Alek?" she said, looking him over worriedly, feeling his head for injuries from when he'd fallen before she could catch him, as well as scanning him with her eyes, looking for anything else out of place, straining her hearing as hard as she could to catch the sound of his breathing and heart.
"Maybe I'm not ok," Alek groaned weakly. "I think I need to go to the hospital."
Sabrina nodded and picked him up and started running. It was only then that she realized she'd been in Forks so little that she didn't know where the nearest hospital was, and she skidded to a stop. "Where is a hospital?" she asked him.
"First we have to go get my car from the reservation," Alek said. "You can't carry me to the hospital."
"Why not?" Sabrina said. "The car's too slow, and I can't drive anyway."
"Because you wouldn't be able to explain how you carried someone twice your size fifteen miles from the middle of the woods to the hospital," Alek said. "Your first thought always has to be keeping your secret. Go to Rebecca's house: she can drive me, and you can avoid a building full of doctors trying to figure out why your eyes are redder than your hair."
"No one has to know I carried you fifteen miles." Sabrina muttered. But after a second she sighed and relented. "Why must you always be right?" she said as she took off towards Rebecca's house.
"It's annoying isn't it," Alek said. "Maybe now you'll stop."
Despite her worry Sabrina sparred a second to smile at him. "I can't. It just happens." she replied as she neared Rebecca's house.
Alek chuckled, then groaned in pain.
Sabrina stopped and knocked on Rebecca's door furiously, forgetting for a second about her strength in her worry, and denting the door with a crunch of wood. "S**t." Sabrina cursed, stomping her foot in frustration. Which is how a foot-shaped crater found its way onto Rebecca's porch. Sabrina groaned, then just decided to stay perfectly still until someone answered the door.
Rebecca opened the door and sighed. "More newborns, terrific." She put her hand on the door and the dent vanished. "What's up?"
"I need you to drive him to a hospital." Sabrina said, nodding towards Alek. "I can't drive and something's wrong with him."
"Alright," Rebecca said, then turned to call up the stairs. "Christian, I need to borrow your car!"
"The keys are on the table by the door!" Christian called from his room.
"Thanks!" Rebecca called. "And Sabrina's here!" Then she told Sabrina to put Alek in the back of the car, while she got the keys.
Sabrina set Alek gently in the car as Christian ran down the stairs, nearly tripping in his haste to make sure she was alright.
"If he makes a move you have my permission to rip him open like a pack of candy," Alek whispered for Sabrina only to hear. "Good luck," Rebecca, muttered to Christian, as she headed out to the car.
"Why are you guys talking like I'm staying here?" Sabrina said, also heading towards the car.
"Like I said, building full of doctors trying to figure out why your eyes are red like that," Alek said. "Plus not to mention people bleeding, you do have to stay here."
"You absolutely are not talking me out of coming with you. I'll keep my eyes down and if anyone asks, they're contacts. I'll hold my breath, but even then blood is the last thing I'm thinking about. I've got it under control. I'm staying with you." Sabrina insisted.
"To big of a risk," Alek said, shaking his head. "What did I tell you always comes first?"
"You do." Sabrina said, getting into the passengers side of the car.
"No," Alek said. "Keeping the secret.""He's right," Rebecca said. "If you don't it could cost us all our lives."
