Alek looked her over and decided to try a normal healing spell. A powerful one, but not unlike something he'd use on any other non-supernatural creature.

Susannahs pulse grew stronger, but that's all there was to show for the spell.
Alek shook his head. "This is beyond what I can do. You need Rebecca. She is more powerful, much as I hate to admit it."
"I'm not sure what she'll be able to do," Jacob said. "Who we need is Christian; but he's busy today.""Busy doing what?" Alek asked.
"He's spending the day with Sabrina."
Alek surged with a jealous rage at that. "You're right, we need him. Call and interrupt them."
at the time, Christian was showing Sabrina some of the best places around the local park.
"I guess we do need..." Jacob was agreeing but before he finished his statement Alek snatched up Jakes phone and call Christian for him.
"hello?" Christian answered. "make it quick, Jacob, Sabrina is waiting for me inside the art museum."
"You're going to gave to cut your date short," Jacob said.Alek nearly growled at the word date, he was furious.
"Why, what's wrong?" Christian asked, his voice concerned.
"Susannah passed out and now she's barely breathing, we can't wake her up, and she isn't repelling fire," Jacob said, panicking.
"Damn it, I thought she was passed that." Christian muttered. "alright, I'll be there in ten minutes." he said.
Jacob hung up and gave Susannah to Alek. "Take her back to my house, you'll get there faster," he said. "And if you try anything know that I will not hesitate to destroy you."Alek nodded then vanished.
About fifteen minutes later, Christian knocked on Jacob's door.
Jacob ran up behind him and opened the door. "Sorry I'm late, I sent Alek ahead with Susannah."
"So what did you say happened again?" Christian asked as they went inside.
"She started coughing, then passed out. Her pulse was really weak and she was barely breathing. And when we tried to heal her with fire she wasn't protected from it like usual."
Alek stepped aside to show Susannah where he'd laid her on the couch.
"I really hoped I wouldn't have to tell you this." Christian muttered, stalling.
"Tell me what?" Jacob said through his teeth.
"Ok, so the chance of her surviving the first time was about 10%." Christian said. "Of the 10% of firestarters that survive experiences as physically traumatic as being stabbed with pure water, some relapse, the cause unclear. There's a lot of support for the idea that those that relapse were closer to death the first time around and the shadows of death have a better hold on them. It's hard to study the shadows of death, so no one knows for sure. Anyway, the chances of a relapse are .1%, so I didn't even think it worth mentioning. But now...well, the chances of survival lower to .01%."
"Go get her from the garage," Jacob said to Alek. His voice completely void of any emotion. Alek nodded and ran out to the garage and began taking down the spells he put up to seal her in.
As soon as Alek was out of the room Jacob turned on Christian. "I don't care what you think!" He growled, looming over him. "She is not going to die. And if you ever say anything like that again, I'll tear out your tongue."
"I didn't say she'd die. I only said it's very unlikely she'll live. By all means, if you'd rather me lie to you and pretend that she's just taking a nap to recover, let me know and I'll be happy to sugarcoat it for you. That way, if something does happen to her, you're completely unprepared." Christian said, staring at him steadily.
"She will be that .01%," Jacob said, his voice loosing a lot of its edge, sounding more terrifyed than anything else. Alek opened the door to the garage, grabbed Adrian by her hair, and dragged her into the house. Checking that the symbols he carved into her arm were still intact on the way.
"Sure she will." Christian said, but he didn't sound convinced.
Alek threw Adrian to the ground by of Jacob, who turned to her, any fear that he may shown talking to Christian was gone. "I want you to fix what you've done," he told her flatly.
Christian stood off to the side, not really sure what else he could offer.
Jacob used the toe of his boot and, somewhere between nudged and rammed, it into her shoulder.
Adrian hissed in pain. "Even if I could, I wouldn't." she sneered.
"I think with the right incentive you could figure out a way to do it," Jacob said. He bent down and grabbed her throat, using her to pull her to her feet. "And I know just how to convince you."
"What do you have to use against a person with nothing to lose?" Adrian said.
"I am going to offer you a trade," Jacob said.
"A life for a life," Jacob said, letting go of her throat. "If you give her back her life, and never go after her again, then I will let you kill me. I won't even fight back."
Adrian grinned. "Now that's something. If you give me thirty minutes to think it over and plan, I'm sure there's something I could do." she said.
"We might not have that long," Jacob said. "Fifteen minutes."
Jacob went over to the couch and pulled Susannah into his arms. "You going to be ok," he whispered into her hair. "You'll live a long happy life. I'm just sorry I won't be in it longer."
Christian narrowed his eyes at Adrian distrustfully, but said nothing.Adrian closed her eyes and thought, coming up with a handful of possible and trying to decide on the best one.
Jacob laid Susannah back on the couch and got back up. "Come with me," he said to Alek, heading out of the room. "Keep an eye on her," he told Christian, gesturing at Aidrian. "Her powers are bound so she shouldn't be too much trouble, just make sure she doesn't run." Once he and Alek were out of the room Jacob turned to him. "I want you to watch out for her," he said. "It kills me to ask you for anything, but I need you to do this. I need you to make sure that Adrian doesn't come keep attacking her once this is done."
Christian watched Adrian who had formulated a plan and was fantasizing about killing Jacob.
"And make sure she goes to live with her aunt, she doesn't need to stay here," Jacob instructed. Alek nodded once in understanding. Then Jacobwent back to the room with Susannah. "Times up."
"alright. unbind my magic" Adrian said
"Are you sure this is a good idea?" Alek questioned. "Just do it," Jacob told him.
Alek grabbed the arm that he'd carved the symbols into and raked his nails over it, slicing apart the seal.
"perfect." Adrian said walking over to where Susannah lay.
"If this doesn't work, the deals off," Jacob said.
"it'll work. trust me, I'm looking forward to watching her cry. your idea was better than any I could have come up with to make her suffer." Adrian placed her hands on either side of Susannahs face.
Jacob watched her, waiting for her to double cross them.
part of Adrian wanted to just kill Susannah then and there before Jacob could go back on his word, but most of her was too curious as to how things would play out once she healed Susannah, even if it did endanger her life more. so she said a spell in Latin, one she'd picked up in her many years of pursuing firestarters, made solely for healing firestarters afflicted with what Susannah had. it was an old, forgotten spell, but it worked as color returned to Susannahs face and her eyes opened in confusion.
