Jacob shrugged. "I said alright not well, as in just alright."

Susannah shrugged. "that you didn't sleep too well"
Jacob shrugged. "Not your fault," he said.
"so what are we doing today?" Susannah asked.
"I don't feel like doing much of anything." Susannah said, resting her head on his shoulder.
"Then let's just stay right here," Jacob said.
"ok" Susannah said, snuggling closer to him. after a few seconds she said, "its scary"
"How easily she can manipulate my mind." Susannah said softly. "how easily she can make me forget you. I don't want to forget you." She said, and by the end of her sentence, she was crying.
Jacob wrapped his arms around her and rubbed her back. "I will always remind you."
"What if she makes you forget? What if we break up simply because we don't remember each other?" Susannah said, hiding her tear streaked face.
"Making me forget wouldn't make us break up," Jacob said. "I'm still programmed to love you. Thats something built into the very fiber of my existence. All it would do is restart our relationship. But without Kahlan to try and kill you. That would make it easier for us to end up together."
"She will never keep us apart, I promise." Jacob said.
Susannah nodded, but was quiet.Sabrina was in the middle of another attempt to get to the top of the smallest tree in the woods when she was approached by a girl. "what are you trying to do?" the girl asked.
"climb this stupid tree." Sabrina said.
"interesting. hey, you're Sabrina right? Sabrina summers?" the girl asked
"yeah. And you are?" Sabrina asked.
"Adrian." the girl said, extending her hand, and when Sabrina took it to shake, a spell passed through Adrian to her, and she collapsed to the ground, unconscious.
Alek was tracking Sabrina to let her know that everything had worked out between Jacob and Susannah. He was closing in on her scent when he started to notice another one comming from the same area. It took him a moment to recognize but once he did he picked up speed.
once she was unconscious, Adrian worked on a memory wiping spell, not as powerful as the one she used on Susannah because she was simply erasing her mind, not rewriting it. however, it was still draining, and when she was done she slumped against the tree for a break.
Alek broke through the trees and found them. He quickly cast an immobilizing spell on Adrian so she couldn't leave then turned his attention to Sabrina for a moment. After hearing her heartbeat was steady he pounced on Adrian. "Tell me what you did to her," he hissed, his fingers wrapping around her neck, "or I'll rip out your throat."
Adrian raised a questioning eyebrow. "because you're not going to anyway? besides, what do you care what happens to some human?" she said.
"I didn't say how I'd rip it out," Alek said. "Maybe it'll be less painful. If you tell me what I want to know. And there are several reasons why I care, none of them any business of yours."
"I've got an idea." Adrian said. "You tell me what's so important about this particular Summer's, and I'll tell you what I did to her."
"One of the reasons is that I've decided the only time she's going to be in jeopardy is with me. I want her safe at all times so that if I should ever decide to she will be in perfect condition when I bleed her out," Alek growled. "Now what did you do?"
"if you intend to drain the girl, what I did has no affect on her blood. in fact, it probably made it easier for you." Adrian said.
Alek gripped her throat tighter. "I swear to God Adrian if you don't tell me…" he hissed.
"you'll what?" Adrian said, her eyes alight with feigned innocence. "kill me? go ahead."
"Oh I have something much worse planned for you," Alek said.
"Youll find out very soon if you don't start talking."
Adrian shrugged as much as she was able to. "fine. I didn't touch her vitals. physically, there's not a thing wrong with her. however, her mind...that's gone. her memories, reason, will, personality. everything that made her her, that made her more than just a body is gone. wiped away." she explained.
"you know it really sucks that I don't like that answer," Alek said. "Your death would have been much more swift and painless had I." His teeth sank into her neck. Then he pulled away allowing the venom to spread some.
though in excruciating pain, Adrian had the audacity to laugh a crazed, evil laugh, tossing her head back with it, even as the venom burned through her veins.
Alek started to suck the venom out of the bite, when he was done he sealed it. Then he moved to the other side of her neck and did the same.
"what's the point of all this?" Adrian asked.
"The plan was it put you through the pain of being turned without any of the perks that come after," Alek said.
"what's the plan now?" Adrian asked.
"Now it's for you to fix what you've done to Sabrina or I just have you for dinner since the taste of your blood is making me thirsty."
"I couldn't fix her if I wanted to. the spell can only be undone by someone who cares about her well being. because only then will they have any idea what she's like. I don't. if I did it, she'd probably end up even more screwed up." Adrian replied.
"What's the spell?" Alek demanded.
"Memory wiping. It's simple enough to undo if you know the girl. A basic spell of remembering should do the trick." Adrian said. "But be careful. One mistake and her brain would fry."
Alek turned to Sabrina and started using the same spelled he had been using on Susannah earlier.
"You," Alek turned to Adrian, "don't move." He said, reinforcing the immobilizing spell he had on her. He closed his eyes and created a link into Sabrina's mind.
Adrian rolled her eyes.Sabrina's mind existed. Around him was a suburban neighborhood, nothing unusual. But there was an ominous presence, a sense of captivity. Sabrina could be seen on her doorstep sobbing, showing no signs that she knew anything was amiss, a man in a military uniform standing in front of her, the empty driveway indicating that at that time in her memory, her mother wasn't home.
"Sabrina?" Alek asked walking up toward the steps. "What's wrong?"
The militarily dressed man nor Sabrina made any sign that they even heard him. "I'm deeply sorry for your loss. I regret that your mother couldn't be the one to tell you." the man said.Sabrina sobbed harder. "Please just leave." she said, and the man turned and walked away, getting into a black car parked on the side of the street.
"Sabrina, what's the matter?" Alek asked, knealing in front of her. "What loss?"
Sabrina stared right through him, as if she couldn't see him. "Why?" she whimpered, before hiding her face in her knees and breaking down into more broken sobs.
