Jacob moved so he was between the water and Susannah.

Susannah's screams faded to whimpers again.Adrian sighed. "You really are a pest." She said to Jacob. "Sabrina, kill him."
Sabrina stood, eyes brown once more, and Adrian tossed her a knife. She lunged at Jacob.
Jacob swiped at Sabrina, knocking out of the way, but not seriously injuring her. Then he pounced up into the tree knocking Adrian out of it.
Adrian laughed on her way down. "My new puppet not challenging enough for you?" she asked, getting to her feet. "What about this one?" she said, pointing to another area of the woods, where Alek stood, eyes brown as well. "Kill him." she told him.((Can we say that she found Sabrina and Alek in the woods at the same time and has put them both on a simple manipulation spell?))
{{sure}}Alek ran at Jacob.
Jacob dodged, then bit into Aleks shoulder and pulled off his arm. He felt a twinge of guilt, but rationalized that he would help him reattach it later.
Alek screamed and dropped to his knees, clutching at his shoulder.
Adrian growled. "Don't break my toys!" she snapped at Jacob. "Alek, kill him." she said.
Alek tried to get back up to attack Jacob, but Jacob just clawed at where Aleks arm used to be and he collapsed again. Jacob turned to Adrian and started toward her, a growl rumbling deep in his throat.
Adrian tsked, and shook her head. "You're ruining all the enjoyment. I guess I'll just have to be more direct." and she drew a dagger and sent it straight for Susannah's chest.
Jacob ran over and took the dagger in the shoulder.
Jacob whimpered slightly with each dagger he took in his shoulder.
"Jacob, move." Susannah said, struggling to her feet. this gave Adrian a better target of her, and the next dagger she threw found a home in Susannahs leg, and she fell to the floor again.
Jacob barked loudly at Adrian and lunged at her. But his attack was weak, every time he moved the knives tore deeper into his muscles.
Adrian waved her hand and he was flung to the side, hitting a tree with the same shoulder that had the knives in it.
The knives burried themselves to the hilt in his shoulder and he howled in pain.
"Stop it!" Susannah said, getting up on her good leg and lunging at Adrian, who avoided her easily.
Alek broke free from Adrians spell just for a moment, but in that time he was able to pull the knife from Susannah's leg and heal it. But once the spell had taken back over he wrapped his fingers around her neck.
Susannah's fingers clawed at the hand around her neck, desperately trying to pry it away.
Jacob used every ounce of strength he had to lunge at Adrian and sink his teeth into her throat, hoping that if she died the spell on Alek and Sabrina would break.
The last thing Adrian did before she died was summon enough energy to send a shard of ice through Susannah's chest. Then she was still. Susannah's grip on Alek's hand weakened considerably, and her breathing grew labored.
Alek released Susannah's neck and gently lowered her to the ground.
Susannah's body spasmed, and she coughed up blood. Sabrina pulled herself to her feet, and took in the scene with wide eyes.
Jacob shifted and as his muscles shrank back to human size the knives fell out of his shoulder. Alek materialized some clothes for Jacob right away.
Jacob ran over to Susannah and knealt beside her. "Hang on baby," he whispered, pulling her head onto his lap. Then he took hold of the ice and gently pulled it from her chest.
Susannah opened her mouth to scream, but all that came out was more blood, and her body stilled, her eyes rolling to the back of her head, her chest barely rising and falling with a whisper of breath.
Alek lit a fireball in his hands and gently placed it on the wound.
The fire hovered over the wound for a few seconds, then dissipated, nothing happening.
"Alek..." Jacob said worried. "Hang on, hang on," Alek said, trying again, but when the same thing happened he started to panic. He tried to use a normal, but very powerful, healing spell first.
The wound closed up, and her body was healed, but Susannah didn't breathe.
"Alek..." Jacob said again."I know Jacob, I know," Alek snapped. He made a massive fireball that he placed on her body.
Once again, nothing happened. "She knew." Sabrina said from where she stood. "That girl."
"What?" Jacob asked. "What did she know?"Alek kept trying the fire, m]each flame bigger than the last.
"Something about how if she killed Susannah now, you guys wouldn't know how to bring her back because the same thing won't work this time. She never thought why." Sabrina said. "That's all I learned before her death broke the connection. That, and something about shadows. I didn't catch it."
"Christian," Jacob said quickly. "Alek take her to Rebecca's house, then meet me at mine for a minute." Alek nodded. "Can you find your way home from here?" He asked Sabrina quickly.
Jacob grabbed Adrians body and brought it back to his house.
Alek teleported with Susannah to Rebecca and Christians house and banged on the door hard. Rebecca ran down the stairs at the sound. When the flung the door open she gasped at seeing Susannah's limp body in Aleks arms. "Christian!!" She called urgently into the house, and moved aside to let Alek in.
It was only when they left that Sabrina finally screamed."What is it?!" Christian called as he walked down the stairs, "You know, I have to study f - " he broke off when he saw Susannah's limp body. "What happened?" he asked.
"Adrian ran her through with a piece of ice," Alek told him. "I think it was made of pure water." Then Alek proceeded to tell them what Sabrina said she'd heard while they were under Adrian's control. "Now I'll be right back I have to go to Jacob's." Then he was gone. Jacob was in his garage when Alek got there, tying Adrian to the chair, the way he had the first time they'd killed her.
"That's not going to work," Alek said.
"I know," Jacob replied leading Alek outside once he was done. "That's why you're here. I want you to lock this place down. No one and nothing gets in or out with out you letting them."
Alek nodded thinking of the spell. It was the same as the ones Rebecca used when she was starving Zach.
Christian looked at Susannah. "Damn." he said softly, moving a stray piece of hair from her face. "She really wanted to kill you, didn't she?" Then he was quiet, thinking as hard and as quickly as he could. Pure water. . .a firestarter's greatest weakness. . .but it only kills the really old ones and the really powerful ones permanently. . .she can't possibly be that powerful yet. . .but if it's started to sting her. . .even then. . .magic fire won't work not in a million years. . .handmade fire?. . .maybe. . .but handmade fire might only start up her heart. . .there's no guarantee it will bring her mind and person back. . .the soul?. . .damn, I don't know what you would call it. . .that would require magic. . .but what kind. . . It was a while before Christian realized he was speaking out loud.
Rebecca looked at him. "You do the fire, let me worry about the magic for mind," she said then vanished up the stairs, pouring through her spell books. As soon as the garage was sealed Alek teleported Jacob back to Rebecca's house.
Christian was googling how to make a fire by hand. "Do either of you know how to build a fire? Magic or lighters won't work. It has to be the most natural fire we can find."
"I can," Jacob said. "I just need a couple of pieces of flint stone." Alek conjured them up and handed them to him.
"And some newspaper, the older the better."
Christian dug through a desk drawer and handed it to him.
Jacob covered Susannah with the newspapers and started striking the stones together over and over again, until a spark caught and the news paper burst into flames.
The flames were taken into her skin, the same light glow remaining a few seconds after like before, and her breathing steadied and color returned to her face, but she still didn't wake.
Rebecca came downstairs. "I'm going in," she announced. "I need to see exactly what I'm dealing with before I figure out what spell I can use." And before anyone could argue she sat down, closed her eyes, and entered Susannah's mind.
Susannah sat by a lake in the woods. Which lake or what woods, she didn't know. But there was nothing else around, and she had no reason to want to be or know anything more.
"Susannah," Rebecca said gently, sitting down beside her.
Susannah glanced at her, then looked away again, showing no sign that she even knew it was her that Rebecca was talking to.
"Hey Susannah," Rebecca said, putting a hand on her shoulder.
"Who are you talking to?" Susannah asked, turning to look at her.
