MF I hate teeth!

This may come as a surprise to a number of you but, I am a stress monger, and as such I grind my teeth when I sleep. I've been doing it for years and have grown accustomed to the sore jaw muscles in the morning. Yesterday morning I awoke abruptly with some hardcore pain and something in my mouth. I broke a tooth.

Fuck, here I am in the middle of fucking nowhere and I have a broken tooth. Try finding a dentist in rural Alaska on short notice. Today I finally found a "dentist" who is somewhat near by (86 minute drive) who is willing to see me this morning.

Whats the catch... I asked him where his office was and he gave me a residential address. So I prodded him a bit more and he says without laughing "Yeah I run my practice from home, just come into the garage when you get here and I'll see what I can do."

"er... yor office is in your garage?" I say, to wich he cheerfully responds, "Yep!"


Now pardon me for being a bit apprehensive about this, but I don't exactly enjoy the whole dental experience, and I somehow doubt a dewalt drill and bondo are the proper tools I will be needing to correct my situation.

It really hurts a lot. It splintered when it broke, and one sliver slid down the tooth and embedded in the gum. My left cheek is swollen. But I am not going to a fucking garage! Looks like the minions are going to have another bad night tonight. only 18 more days till I go home, I can hang.

I really want rental teeth. They have those implant teeth that they jack into your jaw. I would never have to go to the dentist again!

why would it get infected?

No try your scare tactics on me. What would cause an infection would be allowing some mutant bush fuck dentist work on my mouth with who knows what.

you're preaching to the choir sister. If you think I'd let some guy try to dentist on me in his garage you've got another thing coming! I think you're looking at a good chance of infection either way. but whatever. you have some good drugs up there with you?

Seriously, hope you can get that fixed soon. Tooth pain can be the worst. I had an infected wisdom tooth emergency once that hurt beyond belief.

{:-/ no... Ibuprofen, the local clinic won't prescribe me anything because I haven't been to "the dentist" yet.

maybe I should try a hippie tactic and tell them that the dentist isn't in my insurance network and I don't have the money to pay out of pocket...

Or maybe you can go to the garage dentist, have him look at your tooth but refuse to let him do anything, and then he can prescribe you some killer pain meds!! Some of the best drugs I've gotten recently have been by non-doctor-type doctors. I mean, they were doctors, but....like I got 15 Klonopin (15!!) from my eye doctor when I got my eyes lasered and a bunch of Valium from my dentist.

Hey, my hair cutter has the full deal in her basement, all the professional equipment, same thing right? Hair doctor/dentist!

Of course! But does FedEx deliver to the middle of fucking nowhere, Alaska where there are no dentists?
Besides, those aren't pain killers nor will they get you through 18 days! You're gonna need to take care of that one way or another.

(if you take a klonopin every night it might keep you from grinding your teeth, though.)
