Ubah has been messaged ☺
Ubah has been messaged ☺
I just need to say something some of these questions you'll ask Sarah you can figure out on your own or with the help of your team, she is an amazing mod and is always there for us, but seriously that is what the teams are for!

Thanks! We've tried reaching out to her as well. It's really hard having one member who only checks in once a week and another who is missing completely! >.>

While that may sound rude, he/she (sorry) has a point. I don't know how many times people asked if, for example, a book that clearly has flowers on the cover would count for "flowers on the cover".... I mean, I do not know how Sarah finds the time in her day to answer all these questions, keep all the threads updated, read her own books, take care of her kids, and still monitor this entire book club and all the ongoing challenges. It's just such dedication and is so impressive. Just, think about your question for a minute (or talk to your team) before you ask her. If you really aren't sure, then by all means, ask her!
When you have only 2 team members that show up to participate in the challenge and everybody else on your team goes MIA think about that!!
Guys, let's not argue the challenges are supposed to be fun. Yes, we may be on serious teams but they are still intended to be fun.

Not to mention the "what can I use this book for" questions. It's not that hard, just look at the tasks and see if any of them fits. You're allowed to do each task more than one time, it'll just count toward the second or even third round :)
Of course, you won't always know if there's a character with A, if it's taking place in a boarding school etc. until you've read the book, but some are pretty obvious, like water on cover, 800 pages, fantasy novel etc.
Heather wrote: "When you have only 2 team members that show up to participate in the challenge and everybody else on your team goes MIA think about that!!"Not sure what your point is, but, our team is struggling with that too. Doesn't mean you should ask obvious questions like, "does this book that has soil all over the cover count for 'soil on the cover.'?" when she probably has 40 other questions to answer.
Jackie wrote: "Guys, let's not argue the challenges are supposed to be fun. Yes, we may be on serious teams but they are still intended to be fun."Berit wasn't trying to be rude, I'm sure, so people shouldn't jump to conclusions. Sounds like someone's just looking out for Sarah.
Guys with being a moderator you deal with the group as a whole and answer ANY questions a member has.. I would know I'm a mod in another group! I'm done trying to prove my point.
Yes, that was my intention, understand their obvious things you need clarification on, but they're also a lot of very obvious questions being asked, and a lot of things you can figure out on your ownAnd LOL! I'm a she ;-)
Heather wrote: "Guys with being a moderator you deal with the group as a whole and answer ANY questions a member has.. I would know I'm a mod in another group! And yeah, we can be done with this topic now. Berit is just reminding people to be mindful of your questions. People just need to be more understanding, especially on the internet, where context/tone/meaning is often unclear.

Okay thanks :) I did not want to offend either way, people often mistake Danielle for Daniel/Dan :P
Look, Heather was clearly not trying to be rude and neither was Berit. Heather, I feel your pain about team members not showing up.
Jackie wrote: "Look, Heather was clearly not trying to be rude and neither was Berit. Heather, I feel your pain about team members not showing up."Same. We're missing two and it makes things tricky! And sorry - I stand by what I said - I'm just defensive of mods and their hard work is all :)
No, I am too. As a mod, I understand the hard work it takes. My group may be small, but it is still hard work. I just don't want Sarah to feel bad because people are arguing.
Thanks Danielle only 3 of our members are actually participating and it's quite stressful. The only reason I ask Sarah to update our thread is because she crosses them off for us.

Didn't mean to start it. Just thought Heather's comment was extremely passive aggressive and rude towards someone just trying to help Sarah. All done now!! :) We love you Sarah!!! :)
Heather wrote: "Thanks Danielle only 3 of our members are actually participating and it's quite stressful. And that's something Sarah needs to do for the teams, not something we can do on our own :)
I don't think one single person actually started this. I am just going to finish by saying that just to be more careful with your questions and ask your teammates. As a blind person, it is difficult for me to do descriptions about things on covers but I ask my team mates and they can usually help if there is any doubt. Also, I have found what helps our team is if someone in the group is willing to make a list of the descriptions each person is completing or has completed. Thank you so much for your hard work Christina☺️ just trying to be helpful.
Heather, not sure if it helps at this stage of the game, but I have built a spreadsheet to keep track of our progress

A few other teams are having the same problem ☹ I've messaged everybody who hasn't participated at all and given then 48 hours to get back to me.

Well, I can e-mail mine to you, it's quite simple, only a table, and I color the squares as the descriptions are done
Today has been slightly crazy, my son had a friend round and his mother could be like housewife of the year, her house is crazy clean and tidy - you'd never believe that people lived in it, so I've spent all day cleaning and tidying, and then entertaining. not had time to do anything else! am seriously behind on everything and have a meeting at the school tomorrow so won't get much chance to be on then either.
If anybody is wondering where Abbie is, her internet is not working properly so she's not able to get on here ☹
Tati wrote: "If anyone else wants that spreadsheet, just lemme know"I'd love it!!! waltzdew@yahoo.com :)
