Uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh, first off, I'd like to proudly announce that I kind of am terrible at summarizing books or answering questions like that.

Basically in the future there was a war called the Seven Stages War, and once that was pretty much over something called the United Commonwealth formed. Pretty much a country. They thought the war was caused by bad leaders so they wanted to choose leaders carefully. The United Commonwealth was based in a place called Tosu City (I think I got the word based from the book) and they sent people across the U.S.(or what was left of it) to help rebuild a nation. Those places were called colonies. In order to pick leaders from colony graduates, the government (Dr.Barnes and his helpers, it seems like the president Anneline Collindar didn't have much of a say in this) picked some of the best and smartest graduates from the colonies to participate in something called The Testing. The students had no choice but to go. The main character, Cia (Malencia) Vale is chosen along with Zandri, Malachi, and Tomas. Cia is from Five Lakes Colony which is far away from Tosu and has a small population. Anyway, read the rest for yourself. My fingers are starting to get tired. LOL! :)
