Kate (kathrynlouwca) If you are blogless and need a place to post answers to the mini-challenges, you can feel free to create your own thread here and post your challenge responses here and then linking.

***UPDATE APRIL 2017***

We are going to go ahead and leave all the existing threads here for now from the last readathon. If you plan on using your thread again, make a comment in the comments section of that thread so I know it is still active. The day or two before the event, I will go through and close and move all inactive threads. If you are new and want to create a thread for yourself, please feel free. Let me know if you have any questions!

Karen B. (raggedy11) | 65 comments Will the challenges be posted here too? Or just going to the readathon page to get them?

message 3: by Kate (new)

Kate (kathrynlouwca) You will still need to go to the website to get them. However, it is my understanding that you can now subscribe to the website and have new posts delivered to your email. I know I will be signing up for that because I always forget to refresh the page. Or in between events, I miss the sign up posts.

Anyway, you can go ahead and create a new topic thread over here and title it with your name in the title.

What do you mean by "linking?"

message 6: by Kay (new)

Kay (kaylovespurple) | 1 comments I suppose it means to add the link from here on the challenge page.

message 7: by Kate (new)

Kate (kathrynlouwca) Yes, that is what is meant. Thanks for clarifying for me! I thought I had responded. Oops!

message 8: by Karen B. (new)

Karen B. (raggedy11) | 65 comments Kathryn, looking at your instructions here, how do we link our "blogless" page from here? (for someone who likes to read so much this aspect has me so confused)

message 9: by Kate (new)

Kate (kathrynlouwca) When you are on your thread for the blogless, just go to the top where the web address is, copy that, and then paste it to wherever you are wanting to link it. I hope that makes sense.

message 10: by Karen B. (new)

Karen B. (raggedy11) | 65 comments So we have to wait and see where we are told to link it?

message 11: by Bryn (new)

Bryn K, I just made my own thread and now it seems to have disappeared?

message 12: by Katie (new)

Katie (skateanddonate) | 1 comments I'm confused.

Rebecka (hoppeduponbooks) | 178 comments Bryn wrote: "K, I just made my own thread and now it seems to have disappeared?"

You have started your thread under the wrong section , that is why you can't see it. I see two of your threads under the main section called "General". Delete those and start a thread under "For the Blogless" instead and it will show up in the right place :)

Ann A (readerann) | 867 comments Bryn wrote: "K, I just made my own thread and now it seems to have disappeared?"

Bryn, you created your thread(s) in the "General" instead of the "For the Blogless" folder. You need to click on "For the Blogless" at the top of this page and you'll see a list of everyone's threads (this is the "Instructions" thread we're on now). Select "new topic" in the upper right corner, and add your thread there.

ETA: What Rebecka said :)

I deleted one of the threads and moved the other to over in this section. So Bryn, you should be able to see it now. Thank you, Rebecka and Ann A. for explaining.

Bryn Thank you!!

Kate (kathrynlouwca) Bryn wrote: "Thank you!!"

No problem! When I first started making threads, I couldn't always get them to go where I wanted them to. So I totally understand the confusion.

message 18: by Missi (new)

Missi Okay I followed instructions to go to "for the blogless" and click new post, but maybe because I'm on the mobile site on my iPad it showed up under general anyway. Not sure how to fix it

I fixed it for you so no worries! for some reason, things get weird when starting threads from the ipad or iphone.

Kate (kathrynlouwca) Alexandra wrote: "Anyone know how to post the cover of a book as their comment? I haven't been able to figure it out on my phone."

When you click on "add book/author", at the bottom there is an option that says "cover" that you can click on.

Kate (kathrynlouwca) Jan wrote: "where will the mini challenges be posted?"

Mini-Challenge links are posted on the main page for Dewey's readathon. http://www.24hourreadathon.com/

Jan wrote: "And how do you start a new thread?"

When you go to https://www.goodreads.com/topic/group... you will see an option above "last activity" that should say "new topic". Click on that and you can add your own thread. I hope that helps

Sarah A (simplerevelry) | 36 comments When I signed up for the Readathon l didn't realize this existed so obviously didn't include the link in my sign up. Is there a way to do that after signing up?

I'm not sure about that. But it isn't as much of an issue this year because the cheerleaders will only be cheering on twitter. I am hoping that as a group, we will all spend a little time cheering on other group members :)

message 32: by Roseann (new)

Roseann | 1 comments I tried to set up a thread and it told me I need to confirm my email. Is this normal? I did not see a link to do this.

Kate (kathrynlouwca) Please activate your old thread or create a new thread. The day before readathon, I might move all the dead / old threads to the thread graveyard.

Robin (Saturndoo) (robinsaturndoo) | 137 comments Hi Kathryn CA....I have an old thread here from October 2015 which you can feel free to delete as I have set up a new one for this year :)

message 41: by Lorna (new)

Lorna Halnan I can't create a new topic for myself since I'm blogless. I get the error "Sorry you must verify your email before posting a new topic."

I remember getting an email welcoming me to the group but now I can't find it.

Would it be possible to move my old thread back to this folder? I didn't get to participate in the last readathon so right now it's in the April 2016 threads folder.

message 48: by Kate (new)

Kate (kathrynlouwca) Michelle - I'm on my phone right now. I will do it on Monday. If you don't see it by midweek, just send me a quick reminder.

message 49: by Kate (new)

Kate (kathrynlouwca) Jan - there should be an option to add a thread. On my phone so I am not seeing the computer layout. I'll give better instructions on Monday. :)

Will there be an official hashtag for Litsy users? There are many there who do the various Readathons, including this one, so it would be great to have a unifying hashtag.
