Jan wrote: "how do u start a new thread?"Hi Jan -
Go here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/group... and then you should find a link that says "new topic". Click on that and then you will have your own thread. Let me know if you have any more questions.
A bit of a short notice but I'd like to use my old thread as well :)https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
Edit: Hm, I see there are only old posts here. Should I post somewhere else or it's okay as it is?
Ana, I am using my old site. Just changed it to Fall 2017 title and deleted my April posts. I don't know if it's working though because I posted a question today and got no responses.
Honestly, I rarely go back and move these old threads. There are just way too many of them :) So totally feel free to use your old ones. Or make a new one. Whichever you prefer.Karen - Sorry I missed your question on your post. I got super busy at work yesterday and then came home to a mini-crisis that took several hours to deal with. Didn't get a chance to come on here before going to bed.
Jan - the challenges are posted on the main readathon website. There are new ones every hour. Here is the url: http://www.24hourreadathon.com/
Thank you both for answering! I really don't mind have old threads up as the ones that are active surface to the top anyway so I don't think you need to worry about moving them. :)
started a new thread earlier. lost it. cant find it anymore. not sure if the few challenges I've entered were done right. I'm done.

So, I subscribe but can't remember how I did that .... I looked through my emails and it seems that the Dewey's platform is WordPress. So, I bet I subscribed that way.
I know this is not super helpful. Sorry.
Elyse wrote: "I searched through the comments to see if someone asked and answered this but didn't find it sooo I don't see where on Dewey's site that I can subscribe to get email notifications for new posts?"Do you mean new topics being created here on Goodreads? Or their blog? If the blog, all you have to do is subscribe with your e-mail address and then new posts are sent to you.
But if Goodreads, you need to go to your settings. Click your profile, click edit profile, then click Emails and scroll down until you get to the section with all your groups. Find the Dewey's group, and select how you want to get notifications. Email? Notification only?
I hope that the above answers your question! :-)
Jen wrote: "Elyse wrote: "I searched through the comments to see if someone asked and answered this but didn't find it sooo I don't see where on Dewey's site that I can subscribe to get email notifications for..."On their blog. I don't see where it says to subscribe.
Elyse wrote: "On their blog. I don't see where it says to subscribe."Oh. For that, I just checked their site, and I don't see where one subscribes, either. So, to subscribe, do you use WordPress or BlogLovin' or some other platform? For instance. . .
Go to your account on Wordpress. Find where your Reader >>> Followed Sites "Manage" button is. Click that button to Manage and then in the search box, search for Dewey's 24-Hour Readathon by their web address and, when it come up, choose it to Follow and set your settings to e-mail you and/or notify you of new posts "immediately."
And you're subscribed!
On BlogLovin', search for Dewey's 24-Hour Readathon and then once you find it, click Follow. You're subscribed!
On any other site, presumably you'd just need to search for Dewey's 24-Hour Readathon and choose to follow it, either just by straight out searching and following (as on BlogLovin') or by finding the list of all the blogs you already follow and adding Dewey's to it (as on WordPress).
I hope that the above helps!

I'm not on any blog sites. :/ Oh well, I'll just keep the page up on my laptop and refresh it. Thank you for your help!
Elyse wrote: "I'm not on any blog sites. :/ Oh well, I'll just keep the page up on my laptop and refresh it. Thank you for your help!"You don't have to have a blog to be a member of the blog sites. If you subscribe to several blogs, you might want to sign up on Wordpress or another site and then you can keep track of all the blogs you follow in one easy spot. :-)

It's fine, thanks!
I'm so sorry I didn't see this till now. To tell you the truth, Elyse, I think something is up with the subscription. Because I've been subscribed to Dewey's website for years now and I haven't gotten a single notification of any new post this time around. Which really sucks because I keep forgetting to go back and check. On the day of the event, I'll just keep the website open. But for the lead up to the event... well I just keep missing those posts.

And got email confirmation of subscription. So maybe that will do it! :)

We are going to go ahead and leave all the existing threads here for now from the last readathon. If you plan on using your thread again..."
Usually we try to use the hashtag #readathon for all the various social media outlets (instagram, twitter, facebook, etc) so I am sure that that would be the hashtag for litsy. I still need to look into that more. hahaha
