What happened to Claire's petticoat at the Gathering? (in North Carolina, TFC, and technically, I think it's Samantha's turn to ask a question)
Samantha wrote: "Fainting spells. He also had "piles" but LJG didn't know about them."Bobby Higgins suffered form Hookworms{intestinal parasites} which gave him those symptons. I know Claire gave the technical name for Hookworms, but I don't have my book right here.

Go Samantha.
Samantha wrote: "Bumping this up...What is Ian's Mohawk name?"
Wolf's Brother; don't know the Mohawk version.
Mary wrote: Where did Claire & Jamie first meet Alexander Randall?"Wasn't it at Louise's summer house in France when he came as a dinner guest?
She tells him when she goes to forgive him while he is in prison awaiting execution. What body part of Bonnet is preserved by the doctor who treats his Bree-inflicted wound?
Yes, I do! Re-reading FC once again, I even know the name: Lucas. This is the horse Bonnet leaves at the doctor's after the operation and after having stolen several coins (and silverware?) besides his testicle. Lucas originally belonged to Phillip Wylie, who lost it to Jamie in a game of whist and later was stolen from Jamie by Bonnet. In the end Lucas was sold back to Phillip by the doctor.
He was not able to wink.Let me give you a hint to msg 140: Jemmy had problems with the word P-H-A-L-... leaving a shocked Claire.
Next question: What Gaelic phrase (used by Jamie in Outlander) did DG get wrong, and then subsequently correct in DIA?
Re pearls - MacRannoch was going to give them to Jamie's mother as a wedding gift if they got married. But they didn't. However, he couldn't imagine them around anyone else's neck, so he gave them to her anyway. And he gave the bracelet to Jamie since it wouldn't be appropriate for him to give the matching bracelet directly to Claire. My thanks to this group! I need my 'fix'.
And the phrase was his term of endearment - "mo duinne" (I still find it in DIA). It's changed to "mo nighean donn" (found in V pg. 289 large paperback). I think...
