TEAM Bookworms Exploring - Through The Decades

Thanks for making the list! That is super helpful haha :D
I have just over 100 pages left of Batyr Nursen: fengslet, torturert, kastet ut av tre land. And I just started The Book Thief because it is such a long book, although I was hoping to get more done of it before the challenge started (I don't think I will, unfortunately).
So excited for the challenge to start!!

When putting down page points, if we started the book before the challenge started, do we only put down the pages we read after the challenge started or do we put down the amount of pages from the book no matter how many pages we read before the start of the challenge? (I know that you need to leave 100 pages for a book to count)

When putting down page points, if we started the book before the challenge star..."
That's what I was thinking, too. I feel if it's about half the book, it would count.
For your question, we only count the pages read during the readathon. Any pages read before the readathon do not count towards the page count.

I think that it would be a good idea if we keep resending it when we have updated or added something so that it is very clear what we have done and what is left. We can bold the completed ones or something...

Great idea!

If not I will change it to a book from the 1900s or 1930s to get our double, or I can do 1910, 50 or 60 which we have no books for yet

This book should work.
I won't be available much for a couple of days.
See you soon, Bookworms Exploring.

See you soon Theresa!

Yeah, I didn't manage to read past 12 last night, I was too tired!
But I got some reading in this morning! Only a bit though...

Nice! We are filling in lots of the spots!

Have fun reading!!

Is there anywhere we can see all the points that all the teams have (kind of like a leaderboard)?

Is there anywhere we can see all the points that all the teams have (kind of like a leaderboard)?"
I believe at this point, you'd have to go into each team thread and look at their spreadsheet. There maybe an update part way through the challenge, but Theresa would be the one making that update and I know she's out of pocket for a while.

Yeah ok, makes sense. Do we have access to all of their threads?
*edit
We do, and one of the teams has over 50 books planned! Most of the other teams have just over 30 though (similar to us).

--Just to confirm: Yes, make sure you only count pages you read starting at midnight your time today (July 18).
--I will double-check book categories on the planning sheet and add books to additional categories if they fit them or change them if they don't fit where they are. This is one purpose of the planning sheet--to list where each book fits. Please feel free to ask me if you wonder why I moved something, and it doesn't make sense to you--I'm human and make mistakes, so I always appreciate people checking my work. :)
--When you complete a book, add it to the completion tab in 1 (one) category spot it fits that is not already filled by another book. The spreadsheet should automatically calculate everything for us once we fill in the numbers for our book.
--I may rearrange some of the books if they fit other categories to get additional points.

Hi Jennifer! Welcome! Just curious, I'm starting Parable of the Sower. I noticed that it was taken off the prompt for set in a future decade. Just wondering why. I know that the book is set in 2024; however, I still feel like it would count considering the book was written in the 90s.
It's cool if it won't count. Just trying to get us as many points as possible. :)

It is for the same reason 1984 would not be considered set in a "future" time. If an author gives a specific date to his/her setting, once that date passes, it becomes an alternate reality novel, but it is no longer a novel set in the future.
Each book read can only count for one category in the end. Parable of the Sower fits three other categories: One of them is the triple, and another is the bonus prompt if we can fill in the rest! :)

Susan, that version of Peter Pan that you linked has a timepiece on the front (Big Ben) so I added an X for that. If the version you read doesn't have Big Ben, just let me know, and I'll remove it.

Hey! Great that you could join us! We all have those crazy weeks, so I totally get that! I look forward to get to know you!

Sounds good! I don't have any books for a time peice on the cover, but someone else may...

That makes sense! I had not thought of it in that way! Thanks! :)
Also, similar to what Denise said, I tend to read multiple books at a time as evidenced that I'm currently reading 4 books right now. Lol. I have a fairly short attention span, especially when it comes to reading, so I like to jump from book to book. But, I am reading all of them and do plan to finish them all.
