Hope (eclectisismincarnate) | 60 comments Sadly, I never got to read this.

I thought I'd found it (Clown in a Cornfield) but this does not seem to be it, as it's not written from the clown's perspective.

I originally saw it sometime in the last (estimating) 10 years, on Twitter, but cannot find it at all now.
(Also, I haven't been reading for a few years, so it was most likely published in or before 2022.)

Literally the reason I was so intrigued by the book was that is was written from the clown's POV, so I am 100% sure about that. I've started this book (believing it to be what I was looking for), and it is definitely not from the clown's POV.

I have looked at the clown horror list here and not seen anything that looked familiar, so I'm hoping someone here can help me out.

Nope. I will edit the original post to include this, but I haven't been reading/noting books for a few years now.

But thank you!

Hope, is this book written for adults or teens?

Story's location?

Hope (eclectisismincarnate) | 60 comments Adult, I'm all but certain. And also, I'm pretty sure the author was male, so less likely to get mistakenly labeled as YA.
(Editing to change answer: possibility of being YA, but I honestly don't know.)

I'm not sure about it's location. I made a note of it a few years ago, but I've lost it. Never got to get the book, or read it.
I will tentatively say I seem to remember the info sounding rural, but I'm not willing to commit to that.

The selling points for me was that it was supposed to be really terrifying, it was told from the clowns perspective, and the clown wasn't supernatural, but had basically had a break with reality, so he thought he was, like, killing demons or something.

The reason I thought Clown in a Cornfield was it, is the clown's name sounded familiar (Frendo), but this is not from the clown's perspective, so it can't be it.

Like, the clown is supposed to be the main character, but in this it's a girl named Quinn.

Anyway, the way that it being from the clown's perspective was talked about (probably in a review, or the author advertising it themselves) was very clear, but I can't seem to find anything, which is just so odd. Then again, Google has become less and less useful, so who knows.

Definitely not part of an anthology

Hope (eclectisismincarnate) | 60 comments I just remembered, the clown may have been referred to as an 'anti-hero'.

I'm off to look and see if there's any lists for those. Maybe I'll have some luck there.

Hope (eclectisismincarnate) | 60 comments Bumping this

I just finished reading Clown in a Cornfield and can officially say that this is not the book (there was some small doubt, but none now).

Clown's name may have sounded like 'Frendo' (as that's why I thought this one was it).
