Hi Juli!

Welcome to the group, we’re thrilled to have another avid reader join us!

Mystery/thrillers and fantasy are such great genres (so much suspense and adventure!). Since you read a lot, we’d love to hear your top recommendations—any recent favorites that blew you away? Feel free to dive into our genre discussions or start a thread asking for suggestions.

Happy reading, and don’t hesitate to reach out if you need anything! :)"

Carol D | 21 comments My current challenge to myself is using my Library more (I read whatever catches my eyes) Currently near halfway through Cyteen - technically a re-read, but last I read it was around 2014ish or so, same with Regenesis which I also borrowed - which has around 680 pages (I prefer the thicker books apparently *lol*) On my Library Borrows list are as follows:
Cyteen by C.J. Cherryh
Regenesis by C.J. Cherryh
Margaret Sanger: Her Life in Her Words by Mirriam Reed
A Royal Experiment: The Private Life of George III by Janice Hadlow
The Time Traveler's Guide to Regency Britain: A Handbook for Visitors to 1789–1830 by Ian Mortimer
The Regency Years: During Which Jane Austen Writes, Napoleon Fights, Byron Makes Love, and Britain Becomes Modern by Robert Morrison
In These Times: Living in Britain Through Napoleon's Wars, 1793–1815 By Jenny Uglow
The following are on my currently reading list but since they're my copies (ebook or book) I'm leaving them for after I finish my library borrows (well, with the exception of Forty Thousand In Gehenna by C.J. Cherryh):
Alliance-Union Universe #2
Forty Thousand in Gehenna by C.J. Cherryh
Archangel's Ascension by Nalini Singh
Complete Works of Jane Austen by Jane Austen (Delphi Classics 2014)

So yes, I've got my own tbr current list I'm still wading through. And all of them are fairly thick books. *heh* But then, I've always been that way, preferring to read thicker books that are several hundred pages long. Rarely do I read anything under 200-ish If you count in the Graphic Audio, Audibles, & Big Finish Audio Dramas/Narrations, there's actually more, I'm just multitasking (I'm used to reading multiple books at a time, a habit from Jr. High & High School days, only in this case it's listening and reading.

Is there a thread to just check in and post thoughts (or discuss, provided anyone is interested) on whatever I'm currently reading, since none of what I currently have is actually specific to challenge reading threads (at least I don't think any of it is)?

Hi Carol! 👋❤️

This looks like a great TBR 😊 We have a lot of buddy reads in this group, which are threads where you can discuss a book you are reading with other people. Check out this folder to see if anyone is currently discussing something you want to read. If not, post a comment here to find a partner to read books with. When you have found someone, post a comment here and our mod Ashley will make a new thread for you to read and discuss your book. 😁

You can also discuss whatever you want in the Bookish Chats folder. Post something in an existing thread or make a new one yourself! 🙃

If you haven't already, you could also check out the Welcome New Members thread. There should be plenty of information there on how to settle into this group 🥰 I don't know if you would like to join a reading challenge, but if you want to, all the information should be there on step 3 of the guide! 😉

Looking forward to many good reading adventures with you! 📚✨

I was just picking out books to add to my Partner Pick TBR and thought of you, Carol! I think this is a nice no-pressure challenge you could enjoy. Basically, you write a message in this thread, where you link your TBR and write how many books you want to read, and our mod Angie will partner you up with someone who will pick your next reads for June and July, and you will pick their books. After finishing the books, you can let your partner know what you thought of them. Sign-ups are open through Sunday, May 25th.

Other challenges you might enjoy could be the Readathons or the I Like Big Books and I Cannot Lie challenge (since you said you like thick books). There are a plethora of other challenges though, so feel free to check out the Current Challenges List.

Well, I don't know if you are even interested in joining a challenge, but if you are we would be very happy :)
