Thanks Priya. I will check this one out. Have you read Alisa Libby's book about Katherine Howard? It is The King's Rose./ I just finished it so I am on sort of a Katherine Howard kick right now.

Nicholas and Alexandra is one of my faves. In fact, it is the first book that I ever read about the Romanovs.

Sabrina, you may be familiar with this one already, but in case you haven't read it yet, I highly recommend Legacy by Susan Kay, which IMHO is the best novel written about Elizabeth Tudor. Margaret George also has an excellent one about Elizabeth coming out next month, though hers only covers the later part of Elizabeth's reign, from the Armada to her death.

Excellent - I might have to bounce some questions or thoughts off of you while reading the book; if you don't mind. I haven't read many books on them yet, but have done a ton of research online. Have you ever been to theanneboleynfiles.com? I find that one to be fun and probably spend way too much time there.

that is so exciting! that is the section of her reign that i find the most interesting.

Everyone that I know who has read Legacy has raved about it. I still need to get to that one.

AND the Margaret George one on Elizabeth is highly anticipated by many in both this and the Tudor group.

I was lucky enough to get an ARC of the Elizabeth book, Lyn, and I think it is Margaret's best one yet, which says a lot. Elizabeth was a very complex woman and both Margaret and Susan Kay capture that very well. I also really liked Norah Lofts The Concubine, about Anne Boleyn. And Karen Harper's series about Elizabeth, of course. Norah Lofts also did one called Madselin, about a young Saxon widow forced to wed a Norman lord, which I liked very much. It was very realistic and gritty even, nothing romanticized but very compelling and credible.

Norah Lofts is one of my favorite authors from way back (showing my age, now). I need to do nothing but read to catch up on all these books, lol. Margaret George is one of my faves, too. If you consider this one her best that is certainly saying something. I can't wait until it comes out.

I just finished Robert Low's Oathsworn series. Excellent. I really enjoyed it. It is an extremely well-researched trilogy on the Viking Age.

They are The Whale Road, The Wolf Sea, The White Raven, and The Prow Beast. Really good novels not read in the US as much as they should be.
