Paula I stumbled on Michelle Moran as an author during a recent B&N trip, and picked up

Nefertiti by Michelle Moran .

It looked really interesting, so am wondering if anyone else has read it and what they think?

BJ Rose (bjrose) | 3 comments My wonderful daughter gave me 3 Sharon Kay Penman books for Christmas:

Here be Dragons (Welsh Princes, #1) by Sharon Kay Penman When Christ and His Saints Slept (Eleanor of Aquitane, #1) by Sharon Kay Penman The Sunne in Splendour by Sharon Kay Penman

So I'll be able to join the group discussion sooner than I thought - no waiting for a copy to become available. But naturally, of the 3 above, the one that has not yet arrived is TSiS. It's supposed to be here Monday or Tuesday - in the meantime, I'm reading The Camel Club for the Mystery Book Club

I know the feeling - my copy isn't supposed to arrive until late next week :( Isn't it always the case that the one you want the most arrives the latest?

Paula I love it when books arrive early - I got The Sunne in Splendour last night so got to read a few pages. I can tell already it's going to take me a bit to get through the whole thing, but it'll be an enjoyable experience, I'm sure!

I placed an amazon order for a couple of school related books and had to add another to get the super saver shipping (the things I do to save money, such a chore LOL). I added Mary Boleyn: The True Story of Henry VIII's Mistress and the parcel just came yesterday. So excited, it looks great!

Kate - I read The Heretic's Daughter and thought it was pretty good, you'll have to let me know what you think of it.

I also have The Borgia Bride: A Novel and figure I should read it before the series debut on Showtime.

Hi Kate, I'm still reading the book on Arab Historians of the Crusades. Hopefully I'll finish quick and start reading one of the History of Royals! I see you got a few books already to read.

Thanks
Regulo

Hi Lyn, Kate, Thanks for the update on the next February readings on The "Sunne in Splendour." Sounds like an interesting reading. I need to pick up the book at either Amazon, Barnes & Noble or Borders here in the California/USA. Looking forward to the group discussion soon , after I finish reading Arab Historian of the Crusades about another 100 pages.

I read it when it first came out and really liked it. It follows two contrasting sisters, a bit like The Other Boleyn Girl in that respect. My review is here: http://www.carlanayland.org/reviews/n...
if interested.

I read it and liked it. It was a nice change of scenery to read about ancient Egypt. That's a time period that's always fascinated me and she really brought it to life in this book.

So funny Carla, I thought of TOBG, too when I was reading Nefertiti.
