Review: This is book #3.5 of the Beautiful Bastard series and it wasn't worth it's own book. They're getting married; we knew that in book 3. That's the plot. No fun/unexpected twists. Bennett decides for the both of them that they'll wait until the wedding night before they "do it" again. Just a lot of sexual tension knowing how this would end. If I could have skipped this book I would have. Unfortunately, I expect the next book (#3.6) to be unnecessary, too.

Book: The Fake Boyfriend Fiasco by Talia Hibbert

Review: These two were so fun and super sexy together. The narration was on point, honestly although I enjoyed both Rooke Kingston could have narrated the entire thing herself.
It's been a while since I read a book by Talia Hibbert, and I don't if my memory is lapsing, but I don't remember her writing scenes so spicy and good. Girl!!! You did your thang her. Lol!
Nik basically falls in love with Aria at first sight, but he realizes right away that Aria is not into that, so he concocts a plan with her help (unknowingly) to have her be his fake girlfriend to ward off unwanted advances.
He's so freaking charming, and downright sexy that she eventually finds herself falling for him. He's also so freaking honest that he tells her about his plan, and of course she freaks considering her background.

15. A honeymoon trip will generally mark the beginning of the couple's married life.
Read a book tagged 'holiday' or 'vacation'. These are the only tags that will work.
So this can be a genre on the main page or on the book's shelves. A list will not work.
Please ask in the Q&A if you aren't sure.

I am thoroughly enjoying this series. I read book 1 and 2 so that I could read the 3rd in the series since I had gotten it from NetGalley. If there's one thing I can say for this book (and the 1st) it's that it had the power to make me literally laugh aloud which I don't do easily or often. I love the Cane brothers.
JP and Kelsey are cute and their characters are well-developed. When he first meets her (his soon-to-be sister-in-law BTW), he is taken in by her. She, however, not so much. lol I loved their bantering and their growth in their relationship. Definitely fun to watch happen.

Review: I didn’t like anything about this. The fake dating was pointless. Ellie and Murphy had no chemistry whatsoever. They both were also so incredibly unlikable. All the characters were. Murphy had this weird codependent thing with her best friend, and that was strange because I thought they were going to be end game. The plot meandered and felt like it was going nowhere and this book was so awfully paced and really boring. The writing itself was not bad but as a romance this didn’t deliver at all and it just wasn’t an entertaining read. This was a slog to get through.

Sweet book about learning to overcome your own fears and the absolute value of friendship and family/found family. There was a small smattering of romance but not even close to the focus of the story. Things tied up really neatly at the end and I wasn't convinced by the way Milly's ex-husband turned 'nice' again. I feel for Milly to have really grown and come into herself, it would have been better for her to stand up to Richard while he was being an ass and that she was able to walk away from that feeling strong and moved on - instead his niceness didn't really feel like she overcame her conflict-avoidance in order to make her stand. Other than that, it was a good story and I enjoyed it very much.

I will have my book read before Friday, but I won't have access to a computer until Monday to post my review. Is that ok?

Hi Michelle - I announce the final call on Friday PM. Depending on where the teams are at, its a race off to win, with teams trying to have all their books read heading into this final week.
But if you can't post, you can't post. So just do your best, I would say :)

Review: Just in case my thoughts while reading contain spoilers they will be under a spoiler tag. Before that I want to say that I don't usually read YA romances unless I know going in, by reading reviews, it's supposed to be full of humor or like one a read months ago that reminded me of 13 going on 30.
This had the romance element, but for me the focus was on Lina and her trying to figure the truths her mother didn't tell her before she passed, plus Lina dealing with the grief of losing her mother as well.
(view spoiler)
Now will I read more books in this series. Possibly depending on who and what they are about.

Review:
What an awful farce! Too much going on & almost slapstick at times: it's more like a contemporary tale plopped down in the Regency era. I didn't believe in the romance at all, & Graceanne (such an American name for an English period piece) & Leland (also unlikely) irritated me the whole way through. They are rather a stupid pair & the cutesy twins bored me. Not my cup of tea, I suppose.

4. Music is played ~ before, during or after
Read a book with an MC who is a musician or music composer/lyricist. Not a poet.
Qualification must be found on Goodreads and come from the book's main page, a list or shelf/tag.
Tags such as music, musician, singer, composer, rockstar will work. These tags MUST be in context. The tag 'artist' will not work on its own. Combo tags such as 'arts-music-writing' or 'rockstar-actor- famous' will not work as they are too broad.
Please ask in the Q&A if you aren't sure or if the qualification is borderline.

Book:Possession In Death by J.D. Robb
Date: 15/6 3★
Review:
At the end of Indulgence in Death, I was disappointed that they didn't get to have their party, & here it is. The whole gang is gathered together, enjoying food & friendship, when Eve gives someone a lift home & stumbles upon another murder. Eve is possessed by the dead woman, Gizi Szabo, who is searching for her missing great-granddaughter. In searching for Beata, they also uncover a serial murderer. Big score for the NYPSD.
It's a nice speedy piece of action, however, I could have done without the "woo-woo", it spoils the logicality of the series: it's already set in the future, I don't need supernatural as well, but it is an entertaining interlude.
