Build a Pyramid Challenge

Hi all,
I thought it might be fun to do a Reading Challenge together :-)

The challenge is called:

BUILD A PYRAMID CHALLENGE

It has two types:

(A) Build an Upright Pyramid Challenge
(B) Build an Inverted Pyramid Challenge

You have to do only ONE type.

(A) Build an Upright Pyramid Challenge

In this challenge you have to:

Read a book that's 5th in a series
Read two books that are 4th in series
Read three books that are 3rd in series
Read four books that are 2nd in series
Read five books that are 1st in series

The above is Level 1: One to Five (One book at the top and five books at the base.)

It's the minimum requirement to complete the challenge.

You can aim for a higher level if you wish:

Level 2: One to Six

Read a book that's 6th in a series
Read two books that are 5th in series
Read three books that are 4th in series
Read four books that are 3rd in series
Read five books that are 2nd in series
Read six books that are 1st in series

Level 3: One to Seven
Level 4: One to Eight
Level 5: One to Nine
And so on...

(B) Build an Inverted Pyramid Challenge

In this challenge you have to:

Read five books that are 5th in series
Read four books that are 4th in series
Read three books that are 3rd in series
Read two books that are 2nd in series
Read a book that's 1st in a series

The above is Level 1: Five to One (Five books at the top and one book at the base.)

It's the minimum requirement to complete the challenge.

You can aim for a higher level if you wish:

Level 2: Six to One

Read six books that are 6th in series
Read five books that are 5th in series
Read four books that are 4th in series
Read three books that are 3rd in series
Read two books that are 2nd in series
Read a book that's 1st in a series

Level 3: Seven to One
Level 4: Eight to One
Level 5: Nine to One
And so on...

The books can be from the same series or from different ones.

For example:

Suppose you're doing Level 1 of Type (A).

You can read the 5th book from Series X and two 4th books from Series X and Series Y.

Or you can read the 5th book from Series X and two 4th books from Series Y and Series Z.

The books can be of any genre.

The books read for other challenges can be used here if they meet the requirements.

The challenge duration is one year.

You can set your challenge duration from:

(a) the date you start, or
(b) the 1st of the month you start, or
(c) the 1st of January

You may backdate if you wish.

For example:

If you start the challenge on 15th April 2025 but set your challenge duration from 1st April 2025 to 31st March 2026. Then you can also use the books you read between 1st April 2025 to 14th April 2025.

Or if you start the challenge on 15th April 2025 but set your challenge duration from 1st Jan 2025 to 31st Dec 2025. Then you can also use the books you read between 1st Jan 2025 to 14th April 2025.

Once the year is up, you would have to change the status from "ongoing" to "complete" or "incomplete"—whatever the case might be—and end the challenge.

If you complete the challenge before the one-year deadline then you can change the status and end the challenge on that date only.

As I mentioned above, you have to do only ONE type: (A) or (B).

However, you can do both types if you want—either one after the other or during the same challenge duration.

In both cases, you would need to do each type in a separate template, assigning each template a different challenge number.

You can read books from the same series for both types—but you can read the same books only for overlapping challenge durations.

For example:

If the challenge duration of (A) is 15th April 2025 to 14th April 2026 and the challenge duration of (B) is 15th May 2025 to 14th May 2026 then you can use the same books in both (A) and (B) from 15th May 2025 to 14th April 2026.

You can read books from the same series for your next challenges—(A) #2 or (B) #2—but the books would have to be different.
