Welcome Jen and Kate. I am glad you decided to read with us. It's a common experience here that the group will add many books to your to-be-read list!
Hi! My name is Sofia, i'm 17 years old, I just got the app and found this group so i thought it would be a great opportunity to discuss books. I'm a great fan of classics, such as Orwell, Huxley, Hemingway and Jane Austen, but with school i don't have much time to read as often, but i would like to start reading more.
Welcome to the group, Sofia. I hope you will find some time to fit in more reading, but I would say at 17 you already have a nice base with the authors you have mentioned.

Hey! My name is Femi and I love reading just as much as the next person 😂Always looking for new active goodreads friends ;)
Hi All!Happy to have found this group with fellow book lovers. I particularly love classics because
of their intemporal qualities that resonate with us across the ages.
The magic is that a 2nd generation (south asian) immigrant kid who grew up in the TX suburbs in the early 2000s could relate to Francie from A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, set a century back as she lives with her Irish parents in NY. Amazing, right?
That's perhaps the power of classics and books in general to share stories that help us feel less alone -- to share in the universality of human emotion.
It is a testament to the fact that all human beings experience similar emotions, Mira. So happy to have you here. Looking forward to knowing you better.

Hello Femi welcome. I am sorry I missed seeing your post. I hope you are finding the books interesting.
Welcome Mira. I am glad you have decided to read with us.
Remember that threads never close. If you want to start a book but comment after the month is over, no problem. A lot of us do that.

Thanks All! Will keep that in mind as there look to be some great classics that I want to catch up on from prior. Also @ Femi, I sent a friend request. I would be curious to know how you like The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath. It looks very interesting.
Hi! I'm Diana I started reading classics years ago but then over time ended up limiting it to maybe one or two a year. I'm trying to get back to it this year, especially the ones that have been on my list for so long.

Hi Everyone, I'm KeenReader and I read most genres. I started reading more classics last year. This year I set myself a challenge to read at least one classic a month. I think this group will help me smash that target.
Hi Everyone, I'm Murphy. I am not new to Goodreads, but I am new to book clubs and groups. I did not catch the reading bug until I was out of college, so I am looking to catch up on all the classics I've missed. Typically, I gravitate towards nonfiction, so I am interested in what this group will bring!
Nice to have you aboard, Murphy. You might check out the challenges thread--there is one that features non-fiction.
Hi Everyone, I am Sanchita. I am from India and I simply love reading classics. I also enjoy sharing my love for classics through my youtube videos and shorts. Here is my channel:https://www.youtube.com/@sanchitaway
Hello! I'm Beth from the UK. I default to SFF but in between I like to read a bit of everything, including classics. It probably sounds silly but I'm often surprised by how good they are (of course they're good - they're classics for a reason).I currently have a bit of a ridiculous TBR (107 physical books plus hundreds more on lists) so it might be a while before I get to any of the group reads here but I'm excited to be inspired by you all to read more classic books! :)
Hi, I'm Federico, I've recently joined the group – I'm from Italy and most of the books I read are classics or at least "books that everyone should read at least once". Thanks for having me!
