A highly anticipated read of 2025.

This one made me laugh, because ... I'm sorry, am I supposed to NOT be highly anticipating some of the new books?? I'm always excited about all the books!!!

I think their INTENT here was to read a book published in 2025, but the way it's worded, it could include any book you excitedly plan to read in 2025.

What are YOU most excited about??

Listopia list is Here: A Highly Anticipated Read of 2025

Dubhease | 642 comments Ruth Ware and Grady Hendrix are coming out with new books.

The Woman in Suite 11 and Witchcraft for Wayward Girls

I'm cautiously optimistic about Sunrise on the Reaping. I hated Mockingjay, but loved The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was curious about Holy Terrors (since I'm also excited for Heavenly Tyrant!) and omg I didn't realize there was already a release date (and title/cover??? I missed so much!) for the next Little Thieves book!!! I love that series SO MUCH, very pumped for that one. Immediate prompt fill lol.

I'm working in a whole series re-read. Little Thieves for a book you want to read based on the last sentence, and Painted Devils for a book about a cult.

Have you been reading the short stories? Margaret Owen has been running a pre-order campaign on Tumblr and publishing short stories set between books 2 and 3 on AO3. There's also a Goodreads entry for it: The Fallow Year.

Honestly, I might do a series re-read too - it's been a while since I read them and I'm always happy to read them again 😂 I've seen the short stories since I follow Margaret Owen on tumblr, but haven't had time to take a look - maybe I'll just work everything into my reading plan for next year.

T. Kingfisher also has a new one coming out, Hemlock & Silver.

message 18: by Ron (new)

Ron | 2708 comments Gah I am super stoked for this prompt! And I mean 'super' in a 'hero' kind of way.

It's back to the 90s for me. I pre-ordered this book in November and it's being released in April:

Morphenomenal How the Power Rangers Conquered the World by Joshua Moore
Morphenomenal: How the Power Rangers Conquered the World

I was 4 when Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers was on so I'm part of the OG fans. When I got older I got a Tommy Oliver/White Ranger/Jason David Frank tattoo because of how much it meant to me.

I've met several of the Ranger actors over the years, the best being the late Jason David Frank. My mom made me a Power Rangers costume for Halloween when I was about 7 or 8.

I could go on and fangirl about how much I love it. So when I discovered this book it was an absolute must to preorder it right then and there! I don't know what it has, but I don't care. All I know is that it's a Power Rangers book so I gotta read/have it.

*****

There's a lot of books I'm looking forward to so far but I don't think any can top the Power Rangers for me.

He has a new book based on her childhood coming out?! While I didn't care for the movie, I am giving the novel version a chance so we'll see. That's pretty cool though that he's releasing that book.

Sasha Wolf | 165 comments Don't Sleep with the Dead by Nghi Vo is out in the UK on 8 April, so I am hoping to use that - ideally as an audiobook, if that also comes out soon. Currently only the hardback is listed, but I can see on StoryGraph that there is an audiobook in the US.

Ron | 2708 comments Morphenomenal: How the Power Rangers Conquered the World arrives this upcoming week!

Out of all the new releases this year that I pre-ordered, this is my number 1 of 2025 so I'm really hoping it lives up to the hype that I've created for in my head.

LeahS | 491 comments I read Atmosphere.

A good read as usual from Taylor Jenkins Reid - the MC was a bit too wonderful, but the space scenes were excellent. The NASA background was well done too.

Bluebelle-the-Inquisitive (Catherine) (bluebelle-the-inquisitive) | 47 comments Highly anticipated is hard for me. I tend to avoid expectations, lists and bookstagram. But I am thinking about reading The River Has Roots I've been waiting for seemingly forever to Amal El-Mohtar to release something solo.

I'm glad I found this thread because I've postponed this prompt due to the frustration of interpreting it. I agree - which book wouldn't I look forward to? And yes, published 2025 or just read 2025? I'm relieved now, thank you!
