Introduce Yourself, part II
Hello Jeremiah welcome to the group :)

Sorry I haven't been as active in the group as I'd wanted to. Things have been very busy lately.
I had planned to go to Atlanta for Halloween, but it didn't happen. Even still, I had a great time. What about you?

I've been WAY busy too! Sorry for the inactivity lately y'all! :) I'm starting up a new company that will launch in Jan of 2010 so I've had my hands full. Things are pretty much in order now so I should be back to posting like crazy again. Hopefully updating some things in the group too!

I'm starting a scrapbooking company where I'll do other people's scrapbooks for them digitally. I LOVE digi-scrapping and have been approached by several people to do their books so I figured I'd go all the way & see where it takes me.

That is great!! I hope it all works out for you! I haven't been very active for the last couple of months either, I haven't even been reading. My baby had the flu really bad, then I got it. We are finally all over it so life can start to get back to normal.
Hi Everyone
My name's Kat, i'm new to goodreads and was looking through the groups and came across this one and just had to join up. I'm a total paranormal romance junkie and addicted to buy and reading books so I knew this was the group for me. I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone and chatting about books.

My hobby--writing--is officially my career as 2010 marks the debut of my first series (YA paranormal) which starts with 13 to Life: A Werewolf's Tale. So yup, I'm a fan of the werewolves and shifters. ;-)
I saw the group name here and had to check it out. :D
And Shanon--I agree--Goodreads can be addicting! I have to tear myself away from GR and Twitter to work on book 2! =)
Welcome Shannon - we have a few of us floating around in this group!
When is your book being released??
When is your book being released??

I'm Gaijinmama, in Tokyo, Japan but originally from Connecticut and Los Angeles. I'm a part-time university English instructor and full-time mom to two beautiful bilingual, bicultural kids.
I've been a voracious reader my whole life but for some reason only got into reading spooky paranormal stuff in the last few years. What can I say, I guess motherhood has brought out my dark side, Mwahahahaha.....I especially love Anne Rice and anything else with vampires, but I'll pretty much read anything as long as it's good (English teacher alert here! No patience with bad writing!!)
I'm looking forward to participating more and getting to know you all.

My name is Tatyanna Serria Shei Talley i am mixed with so many things that i forgot lol.i am fun and nice with peolpe but if someone gets on my bad side(which is not possible id have to be really mad)they dont get off.im loyal to friends and family i help my baby brother(who is 7 now) and dork around my uncle(which age i dont know...)Giz(his real name is joshaha)

Welcome! I'm in CO, too, but in the flatlands in the Denver metro area!

I am a book-addict mom of 2 in PA. I am constantly reading. I usually forget to log books on gr but am trying to catch up.
Favorite Book/Series -- tough question, but for the category of witches, weres, & vamps it would have to include the Sookie series and the Rachel Morgan series. My favorites genres are fantasy (1st love), historical, historical romance, and lately mysteries.
Favorite Place to Read: In the school car-line waiting to pick up the kids.
Any Hobbies (besides the obvious one of reading)- drawing, gardening (specially winter-sowing), and getting indignant about politics
Something Unique about : I can hyper-extend my elbows?
Welcome Mayakda. You just listed two of my favorite series! I can't wait for the next Rachel Morgan book to come out in 6 days!

Welcome to the group & Goodreads Amanda. Stephanie (the other mod of the group) is from Canada as well!

On top of that, I love reading and television and movies and anything that involves escapism. Which is why I think I love this genre so much. I adore Sookie best I think, but I love Anita Blake books as well. My favorite books lately though have been the two Hunger Games books...they really just held my interest. Since they were written for teens, I don't think I'm as sophisticated as I'd like to think! ha!
I also scrapbook...both digitally and with paper, and I'm learning more and more about photography which is another big passion of mine. But really, I think the best way to describe me is just plain and simple. Cuz I am. :)
I'm so anxious to get started on the next great read with you folks!

I love all sorts of books. I have read Kelley Armstrong, Cassandra Clare, Laurell Hamilton, Melissa Marr, Libba Bray, Stephenie Meyers, Charlaine Harris. I enjoyed the Hunger Games. I am having a lot of fun finding new books to read on the book lists here.
I am looking forward to getting my hands on the JR Ward series and the Jeaniene Frost series. My to-read list seems to grow daily.
I read quite fast so I always have a book or 2 on the go.....

I like fantasy, urban fantasy, I also like epic fantasy my favorite being The Belgariad by,David Eddings, and historical fiction.
I have Beautiful Creatures and look forward to the group read coming up.

HA! I haven't had that problem since I joined goodreads. I'm sure you'll find way too many books to read soon too.

been obbsessed with reading and am begining to find it harder to find books i will love. Hoping this chat room will help.
Got to admit this is the first chat group i have ever bothered to join. So not too sure about what to say. lol
Hope i can get some help off you guys!

I feel you on the toddler getting in the way of reading Kimberley! I've got two running around right now. Audiobooks have become my best friend :)

I've been creeping around for awhile now...and I've decided it's high time I got more involved in discussions!

I've just recently joined this site, and I'm looking for any recommendations and tips.
I LOVE to read. It's my favorite hobby besides writing.
I would have to say my favorite book is Bloodroots by Richie Tankersley Cusick. It's amazing, and it kind of messes with your mind as you read it.
My favorite place to read is either outside or in my nice, cozy bed.
Something interesting.....hmm....I'm not really sure of anything interesting right now, to be honest.
Oh, I have a question. That "currently reading" at the top of the group site??? Is that manditory reading??? Just curious.
Thanks for having me, and I hope to be a loyal member.

I am new to this group and a newly published author also. I have a paranormal romance (vampire) series coming out this year. The first book, My Love Eternal, is now available, and many kind Goodreads members have already picked it up or have it on their TBR lists.
I love to hear from readers, so please send comments and questions my way.
Best!
Liz Strange

I am new to this Goodreads too, Its a lovely way to find out whats a great book to read and to chat about books.
Im currently reading Lords of the Underworld the darkest whisper by Gena Showalter. Before that i was reading laurell k hamilltons Merry Gentry, a.k.a. Meredith NicEssus and i thought that was awesome.
My fav place to read is the lib, or some where quiet when the kids aren't too loud, i Do love to read. thanks for having me would love some recommendations on what should i read next..

Kimberley wrote: "Hey Shanon, 2 toddlers, you brave women! Audio books are good but I like to just sit, reading is me time"
Me time? I have a vague memory of that. I'm counting down the days until both kids are in school so I can reclaim some daylight me time :)

I just joined this group and I'm pretty excited about it. Haha!
My names Katie (I'm one of the few people who run this account) and well I run this account for a website.
I of course love reading. Its been almost 2 years now since I have found the supernatural genre and I'm still loving it. I hate picking a favorite series so I guess I will just name a few. The Hollows, Mercy Thompson, The Immortals, The Mortal Instruments, Sookie Stackhouse, Everynight Academy, Darkest Powers, and Night World.
Well I get most of my reading done in school. You would think I have no life because of the fact that I can most of the time read 5 books in one week. But its the complete opposite. I'm always super busy, working on a website, the endless piles of school work, and doing just normal chores around the house.
I'm probably the most interesting 17 year old you could meet. I don't fit the normal teenage mold. I love music of all types, even jazz and classical. I enjoy going to operas, musicals, plays, and ballets. Which I will be going to a special VIP dress rehearsal of the opera Don Giavani tonight. Photography is a big part of my life, along with just art in general. If I could I would spend all my time in a gallery.
So I guess thats me in a nut shell.

My favs so far are: The Twilight Saga, The Immortal Instruments, The Forest of Hands of Teeth/Dead Tossed Waves (which will be followed by a 3rd) and (not really in the category of Vamps, witches or weres but very cool) Hunger Games series.
Fav places to read: anywhere in the sun - on the beach or lounging on by backyard in a lawnchair. Love to read with music on - kind of like the soundtrack to help unfold the story. But I'll read just about anywhere - even with my flashlight under the covers at night so I don't wake up by husband!
Can't wait to find more great reads to add to by library!

Hunger Games is AMAZING and i cant wait for Mockingjay to come out! I was thinking of reading the Forest of Hands and Teeth, but i wasn't sure if it was worth the read..?

Hello all,
My name is Jeremiah, and I've been lurking in this group for about a week now, so I thought I'd introduce myself. I'm new to Goodreads as well as this group.
As silly as this is, my favorite series would probably have to be the The Chronicles of Narnia. I'm not sure if I'd like it as much if I read it now, but it was the first series I ever read. My favorite genre was and is fantasy with horror and black humor coming in second. Some of my favorites are: The Books of Blood by Clive Barker, A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess, Orson Scott Card, Dark Dance by Tanith Lee, Choke and Survivor by Chuck Palahniuk, etc. I love Anne Rice's movies but I can't ever get into her book because she describes New Orleans way too much. Way too much. You could rebuild the city from her descriptions. I did like Violin, though, and everyone who knows me says I'd like her witches more than her Vampires.
I'm a dark fantasy writer with my short stories free to read on my website: www.JeremiahCain.com . But I won't go much into that in this thread, though.
Something about me unrelated to books and writing: I love music. (And One, Apoptygma Berzerk, Assemblage 23, Combichrist, Covenant, Death in June, Garbage, Grendel, Hole, Kittie, KMFDM, Korn, Ladytron, Marilyn Manson, Nine Inch Nails, Nirvana, Nitzer Ebb, Rammstein, Rob Zombie, Rotersand, She Wants Revenge, [:SITD:], Snake River Conspiracy, Smashing Pumpkins, Suicide Commando, Tool, White Zombie, XP8... )
Ok, I'm sure that's more than enough for now.
