I'm a bit of a classicist for these categories of literature--I like Gautier, Hawthorne and Balzac when it comes to vampires, spirits, magical relics and the like.
I'm also an author greatly indebted to many of these themes. I'd say my approach to any of these elements is uniquely literary and highly stylized. I've compiled my several attempts at some of these very genres in a recent ebook:
Divine City: Bangkok Fantasies
You can also listen to podcast excerpts for free at: ScottBRobinson.net.
Once again, a wonderful group it would appear. I've already invited a couple friends to join!

Something I noticed but it seems like there hasn't been any updates to the group reads? Maybe we could work on this section? :D

My Favorite series would have to be Kresley Cole's Immortals After Dark.
My Favorite place to read...Anywhere! My Kindle follows me where ever I go. I'm not kidding.
Something unique about me...I'm a very visual person and I daydream constantly. While I'm working, watching TV, cleaning, you get the idea.
I look forward to chatting with you about all my favorite books and authors. =^_^=

I love the things that go bump in the night and need more recommendations in adult and YA!

I read lots of paranormal fiction, and my favorites tend to be lighter paranormal series, but I read lots of everything else, too. I've been a book lover since my earliest memories. I live in Arizona, where my DH and I own a bookstore, The Well Red Coyote in Sedona, AZ (when you own a general interest bookstore, you read sooo widely).
We live with our two pets, our Maine Coon cat, Philly, and our Cocker Spaniel, Annabelle, both named for characters in my books, and they're my BFFs. Other than writing and reading, I enjoy cooking and hiking. I used to paint and draw, too, but I no longer have enough time for that. My DH is also a blues musician, and I enjoy going to his gigs, too.

My name is Douglas Brown. I'm a fan of vamps and werewolves and such and thought I'd jump into a conversation or two. I'm also an author in this genre and wanted to discuss what people like and don't like about these types of stories. I'm also a firefighter/paramedic in Ohio (my main job). It is nice meeting everyone.

well i love paranormal romance and erotica,i started reading it about 3 to 4 years ago. i prefer paperback books to ebooks, but if it's ebook only i won't hesitate to buy it. one of my favorite series is the brides of the kindred by evangeline anderson, and i also love one bite with a strabger by christine warren and ecstasy in darkness by gena showalter.
i love writing, painting, and listening to music.
Hi everyone!
I just joined this group and wanted to introduce myself. I am a total bookaholic and I’m also a published author. And I read about 3 books a month. Also, I love discovering new writers! I look forward to making new friends with fellow booklovers.
Which are your favorites in this genre? Any good books featuring zombies or witches as recommendations?
Happy reading,
Sherry

I am an American ex-pat with a Ph.D. in Balkan History (UCLA, 1995) who has lived and worked in the former Yugoslavia for over 18 years (Serbia, Bosnia, Montenegro, Croatia, etc). In addition to my work as an historian, editor and political analyst, I have recently e-published a novel ("Kiss of the Butterfly" -- paranormal/historical fiction) set largely in the former Yugoslavia during the 1990s. It is based on my research into Balkan folklore and history, as well as my experiences in the region during the wars. Although the book begins in 1476, much of it takes place in Serbia and Bosnia, with assorted Balkan oddities.
