Review: The overall book was okay, but Naomi, the main FMC was so annoying for about 90% of the book. Loved Sea and Wild....Dublin was okay, more so at the end, hopefully we get more of him and his character grows in the next book. I'm fascinated to learn more about the secret kingdom and see how our quartet make it out of the upcoming battle.

JL, the requirements for this task include that the book is romance, so if you would just change your qualification to "MPG Sports Romance" that will cover both requirements. I just had to go back to my qualification and add the romance part too...even if it's pretty obvious that the book qualifies, HOW it qualifies needs to be specifically laid out in your selection post. Thanks!

Review: I always enjoy revisiting Eve and Roarke, and while the shorter, 'in between' books aren't my favorites, they're still enjoyable. This one is a take-off on "Hansel and Gretel", complete with the required smart kids and evil witch. Narrated as always by the amazing Susan Ericksen.

Review:
I’ve read this series entirely out of order. So I am reading book 1 last. LOL This really was a good one. Summer and Rhett were so good together. They were both three dimensional, complicated characters. I also chuckled a lot at the humor between them, and between Rhett and his brothers. It was interesting to read how characters from the later books were introduced. And knowing how the rest of the series evolves. This was a romantic and emotional read.

Review:
I haven’t read much by this author. I was pleasantly surprised. This was a good second chance romance, well written, with characters I was rooting for. There was plenty of heat between the MCs as they tried to resist their feelings. And there was also some good suspense. I’d definitely read more in this series.

Book: The Bluest Eye
Read: 12/01/24
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Review: The Bluest Eye is an emotional book about Pecola Breedlove, an African American girl who dreams of having blue eyes to be deemed beautiful and loved. Set in the 1940s, it explores themes of race, beauty, and identity through Pecola's tragic story, revealing the harsh effects of societal standards and racism. Morrison's writing brings a powerful and haunting narrative that challenges perceptions of beauty and worth.

Option 1

Rating: 4 stars
Review: This is a hard book to read, but only because of the difficult subject matter. The writing and story-telling are amazing, but the horrors of slavery in the American south are vivdly portrayed, as experienced by a modern-day black woman who is repeatedly transported through time to pre-Civil War Maryland, each time to come to the assistance of her white, slave-owning many-times great grandfather. The narration by Kim Staunton is also excellent, and really adds to the story.

Review: My first Pandora Pine books and not my last. I love books that feature psychics and really enjoyed Tennyson's character a lot. The subject matter is intense even with it being a cold case. Some people would not want to read this book based on possible triggers (view spoiler) but I liked it even with the hard subject. Ronan's character was harder to like because he was an asshat many times throughout the book. I'm looking forward to reading more in this series and seeing what Ten and Ronan's relationship go.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

Review: When hockey god, bad boy, Axel, wakes up hungover and handcuffed naked to someone's front porch he's not really surprised since he blacked out after a night of drinking. What he is surprised with is the shot gun first pointed at his head and then at his "little friend' when he attempts to sweet talk said gun holder. Eventually she cuts him loose and sends him on his way only to have to do it again the next day.
Bailey is just trying to restore her grandfather's farm back into its former glory after his death and she really doesn't need the sexy, destructive hockey god distracting her. But their bickering and strong attraction keep pulling them together.
I loved Axel and Bailey. Both have pasts that weigh on them and hold them back, but they pull each other up and help heal each other.

Review: My first SJ Himes book and definitely not my last. Coincidently, this is the second back to back book I've read set in Boston. This one had vampires and a hella powerful necromancer and the world building was interesting. I always like listening to Joel Leslie's narrations so that was a plus. My big gripe though is I can't get the second book through Audible Plus but can the 3rd and 4th. So weird!

Review:
I wasn’t too interested in reading this at first. The description made it sound like it could be too sad. But I’m glad I gave this a try. The story was emotional at times. But I liked Helen and Grant. They were smart and ‘real’. The push and pull of their relationship kept me interested in their romance. The book did remind me of books by Emily Henry and Katherine Center. So I’ll definitely read more by this author.

Review:This was definitely a good fricken slow build up. Waiting for the final showdown, for Shi to finally get her life back, and to get her freedom from Mr. X. Don't get me wrong I loved all her sexy alone time with all four of the Stone boys, but being the last book I was anxious for that last stand, and I so not disappointed.
Sad the series ended but definitely loved this long-awaited ending and for Shi to get her HEA with her guys after all the heartache, pain and fear she endured.

Review: Another wonderful installment in my favorite "comfort read" series. In this book Eve, Roarke, and crew are investigating the murder (staged as a suicide) of a respected but not particularly well liked retired IAB detective. As usual, the side stories involving secondary characters were as important to me as the actual main plot, and didn't disappoint. Susan Ericksen's narration was excellent as always.

Review: If you have not read K.M. Neuhold I highly suggest you correct that immediately. This is a light-hearted enemies-to-lovers romance about two feuding neighbors, Stone and Dare, who can't resist their growing attraction. You'll come for Stone and Dare but stay for Rudy, Dare's dog, who is very much a main character in this story.
