Absolutely not!
Bets, I suppose it and all the other abilities elves have were given to us be the light, but I'm not completely sure. It isn't something we talk about much, if at all. Many elves assume that's just how things are.
Bets, maybe you and I should use the comments from this chat to write a book together. I love allegory too.
Maybe I should write a book based off of comments in this chat... but without the allegorical stuff lol.
Elisabeth (Bets) wrote: "I’m big on allegory 😂"But you're trying to use allegory to completely change my character. I was never supposed to be evil.
Witches are always evil in books. At least ones that I’ve read. lol. I’ve never ever read a book with a good witch.
Not modern books. Witches and vampires are good now. Or at least morally neutral
Elisabeth (Bets) wrote: "Witches are always evil in books. At least ones that I’ve read. lol. I’ve never ever read a book with a good witch."Oh come on, there are plenty of books with good witches.
Anyway, I like all the different sides, but when you start going allegorical and telling me I'm evil...
Elisabeth (Bets) wrote: "Who kidnapped someone?? (Selah) The witches. We didn’t kidnap anyone. It was y’all."Well, that was the W.
P. wrote: "Glinda, the good witch, its right in the name."hah, yeah, I was thinking of her actually lol
Alright, I’ll just say this, it’s super hard for me to not go allegorical on y’all 😂😂
I know we differ here so I’ll try to tone it down for y’all. But I do very firmly believe that everything should glorify God, which is why I prefer Christian fantasy and like allegorical books. Also why I’m trying to turn this “Christian” lol.
I’ll try to just roll with this tho.

Lol. Yeah, I get it, it's just it started getting "Christian" out of nowhere. Although, tbh, maybe playing a villain would be fun lol. It's just not what I was going for here.
😂😂 no Bella not out of nowhere 😂😂 I was doing the same thing back in the beginning. I’ll try and stop doing it so much tho.
Ok so, just to clarify some things before we continue.
Where does the witches power come from in this fantasy world?
Where does the witches power come from in this fantasy world?
Well, yeah, but it was just you jumping in once in a while, and now... well, you're trying to kill me with a flashlight. (oh, wait, that was BNC, but you helped)
Elisabeth (Bets) wrote: "Ok so, just to clarify some things before we continue. Where does the witches power come from in this fantasy world?"
They're just born with it. It's from the higher power, I guess. Maybe it's tied to nature?
I think the fantasy aspect of fantasy will always be something less then those who weigh more heavily on the faith side will enjoy.Fantasy by its nature is something outside of the world as the Creator has made it. And allegory's pointing to the same story over and over does not bring much that needs to be considered again to the table.
If I was to write purely towards faith, I would just be rewriting the bible again and again.
But fantasy, and really all fiction, is always asking the question of What if? What if there was a world with dragons? What if there was a hidden world where wizards cast spells? what if there were good witches?
You cannot sharpen a knife by avoiding the stone. Its good to have beliefs, but if they are never challenged, never questioned, what really are they? To expand and still hold faith, to test and still believe, to challenge and still find true, Does that not strengthen faith, and make more glorious the adventure in Christ?
If we are not to encounter and weigh other belief sets, other schools of thought, other rational explanations, and the quest of philosophy, wouldn't we be better just to never leave our rooms?
I am going to roam and adventure. I feel I've kept my faith. And I like fantasy.
Oh well. Makes it easier for me I guess. It is hard but it had to be done if he wouldn’t switch sides. So I’ll be grateful
I didn’t have to do it.
I didn’t have to do it.
