em ꨄ︎ (ec_eq) | 3 comments Shadow and Bone trilogy first (3 books in publication order- Shadow and Bone, Siege and Storm, Ruin and Rising)
Then, move to the Six of Crows duology (returning characters from S&B and spoils or misleads you on some details from the trilogy) (2 books in publication order- Six of Crows, Crooked Kingdom)
Finally, after reading both S&B and SoC, move to the King of Scars duology, currently the finale of the Grishaverse. These books spoil both S&B and SoC and are a continuation of major events that take place in those books. (2 books in publication order- King of Scars, Rule of Wolves)

(You can read SoC before S&B, but if you plan to read S&B, read it first to avoid spoilers that are present in both the duologies)

Hope this helps! Happy reading, this series is one of my absolute favorites of all time :)

Saniya Olegario | 7 comments Read the shadow and bone trilogy first then the six of crows duo and last the king of scars duo that’s how I read it

Violet Benjamin | 2 comments I honestly think you could skip the Shadow and Bone trilogy and jump straight to six of crows. That’s what I did and it worked out pretty well for me. You definitely need to read some of her books before King of Scars (otherwise you are gonna be so lost.)

Molly (itsmollyrichards) | 2 comments I would totally start with the Six of Crows duology and then move over into the Shadow and Bone trilogy so that you can then read the King Of Scars Duology. While there's minor Shadow and Bone crossovers in the Six of Crows duology you do not need to have read Shadow and Bone to completely adore the books. I found reading it in this order was a really great reading experience for me.

Pancake’s Library ☾✶ (camelotreviews) | 3 comments Personally, I started with Six of Crows and I don’t think it really ruined my experience with S&B. I would just always recommend saving the King of Scars duology for last.

gabby ୨୧ (g4bby_8) | 7 comments hihi this might be a little late but..
i became a s&b fan when the show came out! which would be approximately 2021 (crazy that it's been 3 years.) i watched the first season, which gave me background knowledge on the universe. i then read six of crows (which i ADORE). after that i read the shadow and bone trilogy, and after that, the king of scars duology.
yes, this is out of order, but watching the show (as inaccurate as it was) did help me understand the storyline and world.
i would definitely recommend reading six of crows, that book series changed me

noor. | 7 comments first read the shadow and bone series in order: shadow and bone, siege and storm, and ruin and rising. you’ll get a better idea of the overall setting and powers and history.
then read six of crows and crooked kingdom.
lastly read king of scars and the rule of wolves !
