I did some research on similar books and think it’s possible one of the many “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” books might have a plot similar to this? It’s been a long time since I read any of those so I could be off on this.

Thank you for the suggestions!
I am confident the main character is a male character - However, the book I'm looking for is a very similar plot.
I know it's not one of the "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" books. It's a little more mature than those books. I know I read it when I was in high school, and obtained it from my high school library.
Both suggestions very much fit what I'm looking for though!

I am looking for the title of a book, and upon countless hours of Google searching, I am at a loss.
What I know:
-YA "Coming of Age" fiction novel
-The plot is about a middle school or high school aged boy who creates comics (I'm thinking super hero comics?) that have to do with real life situations, every day problems, etc. Like puberty, crushes, etc.
One day, one of his comics gets published in the school newspaper because it either fell out of his backpack, or something... But SOMEHOW, someone got ahold of the comic and published it, and it grows in popularity around the school.
-I read this book anywhere between 2007-2012, and I'm thinking at the time I read it, it *might* have been 10-15 years old at the most... It certainly wasn't NEW.
-The book is set in present day, and I'm thinking takes place in America.
-It is NOT a graphic novel, *However*, it does contain comic strips throughout the novel.. Like little tidbits of the main character's comic strips. And once again, the comics describe every-day life situations that every teen goes through.
-I am confident the main character is a young male.
**Edit**:
The issue I'm having when trying to Google/research this on the internet is that I am being recommended graphic novels, and I am 100% confident it's not a graphic novel. It's a hybrid, I'd say. It's mostly text but there are tidbits of the main character's comics spread throughout the book.
