Reader | 3 comments Looking for a children's or YA book I read in the late 70s or early 80s about 3-4 siblings who are transported to a fantasy world through their TV set. Things I remember but not 100% sure:
- the kids are Canadian, or from a snowy, northern US state
- in the fantasy world there are a dwarf, a king and a vaguely messianic character named Gal or something similar

Becca (beccalikesbooks) | 5600 comments The Tower of Geburah by John White? It's the third book in the Archives of Anthropos series although was actually published first chronologically (much like how The Magician's Nephew is often listed as the first book in the Narnia series, even though The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe was published first).

Wow - I think you found it! In book 4 they are transported from Winnipeg, and the messianic character is named Gaal, not Gal. Great job and thanks!

Glad you found your book, Reader.

Just to confirm, which book did you read in the Archives of Anthropos series by John White - Becca's find?

Reader | 3 comments Pretty sure it was book 4: The Iron Scepter, since they were in Canada when they were transported. I don't see any mention of how they were transported, through TV or otherwise, but the rest matches up. I just ordered the series - am very curious to read the books 40+ years later!
