Team: Don't Worry "B" Happy
I did a little gophering and here are a few of my books that are strong possibilities. Not that I'll read them all, but I was surprised how many I had that fit the theme. This is the "new" order I'm planning on reading:
DNF 3. George: A Magpie Memoir
4. The Bears of Brooks Falls: Wildlife and Survival on Alaska's Brooks River
6. The Well-Gardened Mind: The Restorative Power of Nature
Another Possibility:
- magenta on cover
Thanks, Jayme for creating the thread. I usually read 7-10, but leave for England on the 4th for a couple of weeks. Pretty sure I can complete two to three. These are some I am considering:The Story of Arthur Truluv (Mental health/compassion(
A Broken Clock Never Boils (Mental health)
Medicine Walk (Generational compassion, care of elderly and Nature)
Angel Lane (Improving mental health with kindness)
Wild Mind (survival, nature)
The Landman (Nature)
The Drowning Isle (Nature/Relationships)
Team B: “B” the Best???? That’s all I have. Certainly someone will come up with a better one?

I like your team name suggestion!
Have fun on your trip. I haven't been to England, but it is on my bucket list to do within the next 5 years.
The beginning of the Toppler is very busy for me, so I won't be reading my usual 6 either. Will be happy to finish 3 this go around.
The Salt PathThe Well-Gardened Mind: The Restorative Power of Nature
Wilding
On the Wandering Paths
The Parliament (magenta cover?)
The Shepherd's Life: A People's History of the Lake District
These are the first that I've found on my TBR - list, but I won't read them all.
Some books I'm thinking about reading:The Lord Is My Courage: Stepping Through the Shadows of Fear Toward the Voice of Love
Maybe You Should Talk to Someone
Rising Strong: The Reckoning. The Rumble. The Revolution.
Everything Happens for a Reason: And Other Lies I've Loved
Jayme, I am sure it is busy. I have been to England before. This time, I am staying with a friend who is from and lives there. I think I will get a better picture. I had a hard time with magenta. So, I googled “magenta” and it gave me a range. That helped!
Looking forward to it.

Amanda - thanks for making my TBR list longer! lol
Hi! I’m contemplating these books as possibilities:About a Dog, The Comfort Book, The Diva Sweetens the Pie, Hawaii Time: Cat Cozy Humor Mystery &The Summer Skies
There may yet be more. Who knows?
Hi Teammates!I think i have at least 2 books picked out. The first one I think I'm going with is The River with the book blurb starting out with "The story of two college friends on a wilderness canoe trip—of a friendship tested by fire, white water, and violence." So set in nature.
My second pick is The Honey Bus: A Memoir of Loss, Courage and a Girl Saved by Bees " Part memoir, part beekeeping odyssey, The Honey Bus is an unforgettable story about finding home in the most unusual of places, and how a tiny, little-understood insect could save a life." I think that description connects this book to nature and wellness perfectly.
I don't know how many I'll get read but I should get at least these two. I'll keep gophering so I'm ready to read more.
I will have to stick with 1 book i think. I am not lokely to be around on the 2 Saturdays. I might go with an audio as i have a few commutes in there. I will gopher today.
HI I think I am going to find this hard but
Sleep Donation will i think work we all need sleep
Whistling Past the Graveyard finding out what really matters
Piglet (pigs found in nature)
A Short Walk Through a Wide World When medical treatment only makes her worse, she flees to the outskirts of the city, where she realizes that it is this very act of movement that keeps her alive. So begins her lifelong journey on the run from her condition, which won’t allow her to stay anywhere for longer than a few days nor return to a place where she’s already been.
The Lifeline: The big-hearted and life-affirming summer read about the power of friendship - Phoebe needs help. As a mental health nurse serving her community, the wellbeing of her patients has always come before her own. Yet there's only so long she can pour from an empty cup. Looking for a lifeline, Kate and Phoebe find a sense of community - and each other - through their local river swimming group.
I can probably read 4 in the week maybe more depending on the length
I am going to listen to The Midnight Library. I watched the video that Kristie shared and it talked about the most common health problem being depression. So I checked the Goodreads list https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/1... for 'Depressed Protagonist Finds Meaning In Life'. I've doubled checked the book and the way the book plays out, it looks like it explore how the best way to live you life is (for this character) and helps her to free themselves of regrets etc. Additionally, the author Matt Haig is known to have had anxiety and depression. I've read his non-fiction books but not one of his fiction books so I'm looking forward to it.

I'm currently reading A Short Walk Through a Wide World and it fits the theme of nature and global because she walks through the jungle, wilderness, desert and sails the seas and it describes those environments.

My friend has spare umbrellas so we don’t have to worry about that. I am so looking forward to it. She came to visit us in Middle Georgia, USA, in October so she wouldn’t burn up with temps in the eighties. We planned for us to go in June so it wouldn’t be freezing. I see it is “predicted” for highs in 60s which is cool for me, my husband will love it and it will be a break from the heat here!
Hi all! Hard one, for starters I am thinking of Alone With You in the Ether as per precis "Alone with You in the Ether explores what it means to be unwell, and how to face the fractures of yourself and still love as if you're not broken."
My mom is coming over this weekend so lets see how many I can fit in!
Hi. I will start with two books and see if I get in a third. I plan on reading Something Fresh where a character promotes doing Swedish exercise for well-being, and Frenchman's Creek. According to the book description, the MC escapes to the British countryside, looking for peace of mind.
Does anyone else have an idea for our team name?Sharon came up with - "B" the Best! which has my vote.
And does anyone want to head up the reporting thread? It would just be keeping track of how many books read.
I don't think I'll be around much to keep up with the reporting thread. I don't mind just creating it, though, but if it needs more than that, it might be best for someone else to do it.As for team name, how about 'B Well', 'Don't Worry, B Happy', 'B Kind' or 'B-lieve in Yourself' - trying to think of things relating to wellness but they're all a little cheesy lol
Here are the current possible team name ideas. Which one do you like?“B” the Best
'B Well'
'Don't Worry, B Happy'
'B Kind'
B-lieve in Yourself'
Saar The Book owl wrote: "I can create the reporting thread. What does it need?I find 'B the best' from Sharon nice!"
Thanks Saar. You would just need to create a thread in the "TBR Topplers" category for us to report our books and keep a running total of how many books read. That final number will be reported to Kristie when the Toppler is finished.
Jayme wrote: "Saar The Book owl wrote: "I can create the reporting thread. What does it need?I find 'B the best' from Sharon nice!"

Will do that in a minute!
it looks like "Don't Worry "B" Happy" had the most votes with 3. They were all great titles. I'll change our name on the thread title.I picked up 2 of the books that I was planning on reading "if I can get to them" from the library yesterday and well have decided to read them first. They look like they will be super quick reads - more bang for the buck.
Heading out to build a trellis in the historic gardens. Will be back mid afternoon to start the toppler.Happy Reading everyone!!
I am finding it hard to be sure that books link to the themeI feel fairly confident with
The Lifeline: The big-hearted and life-affirming summer read about the power of friendship
and
A Short Walk Through a Wide World
I have followed the link to the site on the main thread it seems that only this year and last are associated with a theme and both are Magenta or nature
the you tube vide saya anything that contributes to wellness e.g exercise so if a an MC undertakes exercise to improve their health does that work?
it defines the most common health problem = depression sleeplessness poor nutrition so will books that talk about these things work
says it is a journey of self discovery - so book with MC on that journey?
I am maybe overthinking this and have jotted most of these things down to give me ideas
I will start with a book that i am certain will fit and think about what comesnext

Marie - I think both of your books will work. Last year's theme for Global Wellness day was about mental, emotional and physical well-being, so Lifeline: will fit. 😊
Fee wrote: "Frenchman's Creek. According to the book description, the MC escapes to the British countryside, looking for peace of mind...."I really liked this one from Daphne du Maurier, Fee. I hope you enjoy it.
My potential reads (provided I can get them from the library in time!):My Beloved Monster: Masha, the Half-wild Rescue Cat Who Rescued Me by the late Caleb Carr; about the troubled author's relationship with a cat and how they saved each other.
Evvie Drake Starts Over by Linda Holmes; about a grieving widow and a has-been baseball pitcher and how they help each other live again.
Out on a Limb by Hannah Bonam-Young; two disabled people find each other.
The Highly Sensitive Person: How to Thrive When the World Overwhelms You by Elaine N. Aron
The Henna Artist by Alka Joshi - has a wonderful, magenta cover!
@Jan Mc: I've added 'My beloved Monster' to my TBR - pile. Seems interesting. I'm going to start my toppler book this evening.
Don't forget to report in the reporting thread when you have completed your book https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
Finished Tell Me More: Stories About the 12 Hardest Things I'm Learning to Say (very good) and moving ontoDrunk-ish: A Memoir of Loving and Leaving Alcohol
Hi guys. Sorry for checking in late, I've been away. I will start my audiobook tomorrow, looking forward to it.
I've been working on Group: How One Therapist and a Circle of Strangers Saved My Life and The Lord Is My Courage: Stepping Through the Shadows of Fear Toward the Voice of Love when I have time, but today was my daughter's graduation party and I've had no time to read yet. As soon as I put the little one to bed I can get back to my books.
How is everyone doing? I'm almost finished with my second book and then won't be able to really read again until Tuesday night. I have to drive to Raleigh to house and dog sit for my brother for a couple of weeks, so am getting everything squared away here first before I head out. I do have my bag of books and kindle ready to go though 😉
I am nearly done with A Short Walk Through a Wide WorldWas wondering if I could link a book because it's author has sadmitted he truggles with mental illness
The Anthropocene Reviewed by John Green I am reading this at the same time as the short walk one
