The first thing I always ask when offering suggestions is what are you looking for in a manga (and possibly other style graphic novels?) For example if you want a humorous family friendly type of book why not try Dragon Goes House-Hunting, Vol. 1. Looking for an action manga with a bit of investigation and supernatural elements? Go for Black Butler, Vol. 1. How about a period piece about a girl raised to be bright finding herself forced to serve at the Imperial Court's Palace then try The Apothecary Diaries Manga, Vol. 1. How about a fantasy story about an elven wizard who already helped defeat the great evil of the world and travels to keep busy now that the rest of her old party has gotten old or already passed? Frieren: Beyond Journey's End, Vol. 1 might interest you then. :)

All four are good series and at least three of them are popular enough to get an anime adaptation.

Doc (docpersona) | 233 comments Also there is already an Introduction thread so if you would be so kind maybe change the title of this post to something like "Recommend Me Some Manga" (which you were indeed looking for) or some other thing so there is not confusion in the future. :)

Welcome!!

In addition to what Doc said, we do a monthly read in this group every month. I put up a poll and folks vote on the first 4 or 5 volumes of a series to read. I recommend participating if you're looking for recs! I've found some series I've truly loved through our monthly reads!!

Doc (docpersona) | 233 comments Or in some cases a follow up on the same series but yes 4 or 5 volumes is correct. :)

As an example it looks like Banana Fish vols 6-10 was the winner in the February polls and January was the first 5 volumes.
