Cat wrote: "small q: shouldn't it be "La Dame de Fer" ?"Yes, I speak French and it should be Dame, so one extra "e".

Thank you! Great task!
Robin P wrote: "For 2b - a beach, does this work?
It's not totally clear if the shore is a beach."
Part of me wants to say yes but like you I can't say with certainty that we are seeing beach. I think I would have to say No
Interestingly I have this book and have it down for task 5.1 (3 distinct colours on cover)
Marie (UK) wrote: "Robin P wrote: "For 2b - a beach, does this work?

it it helps - the book description says the Jersey shore which would indicate beach

That's fine, and it doesn't really matter what the description says, the cover has to be obvious. I can move it to another task easily. Thanks!
b) A series of 5 books is called a pentalogy. Read a book that is part of a series of FIVE and ONLY FIVE primary works. ONLY whole numbers count. The series name must be apparent in greyscale on the GR book pageDoes this mean a series with 5 primary book and a 0.5 book will work?
Divorced Men's Club
Or, do I look for a series with 5 primary books and nothing else listed on the series page? I can't tell if this task means just ignore the #0.5 etc books or if a series that has them is ineligible. Thank you
Amy wrote: "Is this okay for a beach? With the evening scene, I wanted to be certain.
"i think it is hard to say for definite that the picture shows beach - if i say yes to this i feel I should say yes to Robin's cover - so I am going to say no. If this causes problems I will chat with mods about it but I feel we should obviously be able to see beach e.g. sand
Susan A wrote: "b) A series of 5 books is called a pentalogy. Read a book that is part of a series of FIVE and ONLY FIVE primary works. ONLY whole numbers count. Can I get this correct. For option 4B. The series can only be made up of 5 books and no more than a series that has 5 books in that series. So I couldn't read say a James Patterson book as there are more than 5 books in a series of his?
Fiona (Titch) wrote: "Can I get this correct. For option 4B. The series can only be made up of 5 books and no more than a series that has 5 books in that series. so a series with 6 8 or 12 books for example will not work
Fiona (Titch) wrote: "Option 2 - Is this a beach setting?

Fiona (Titch) wrote: "
would this work for a beach?"sorry I didn't see that you had asked about this one
I have enlarged this as far as I can on my computer but I still think it is too dark to say that this is SAND
For consistency in moderation I will have to say no.
I didn't think this would be hard to fill are you having real struggles finding something?
Marie (UK) wrote: "Fiona (Titch) wrote: "

Oh no, I was trying to use the books that have been on my list for a while lol. I have others xx
But thanks for getting back to me xx
Marie (UK) wrote: "Fiona (Titch) wrote: "What about

YAY. I did have another book, but I can't find it on here lol x
for the three 3 letter word options - would a word i the title that is an abbreviation count?Reasons Why Not to Date Public Enemy CEO - Why, Not, CEO
For 2b, does beach/ocean on a cover within the cover work? For example, Little Bookshop of Murder has a beach scene, and that book cover is seen within the cover of Once Upon a Seaside Murder.
Dee wrote: "for the three 3 letter word options - would a word i the title that is an abbreviation count?Reasons Why Not to Date Public Enemy CEO - Why, Not, CEO"
No sorry it isn't really a 3 letter word

I am going to say no it isn't clear enough on the second book The first book does work but I am assuming you have read that
That was my fear lol; thanks for checking. I haven't read the first book yet, but I had it earmarked for another task already. So gonna see if I can do book shuffling to have everything still be covered. :)

Would this book work for option 1B, ship on cover
If you zoom in, there are ships in the top right and bottom left corners

yes I can clearly see the ships and what a fabulous cover
Question on option 3B-Is "Mrs." considered a 3-letter word or a 4-"letter" word?
e.g., Gilman, Dorothy. Mrs. Pollifax and the Golden Triangle

In the UK we have a TV programme called The Great British Menu. This year the banquet which ends the series will take place in Paris and honour some of the greatest British athletes.
I found this site giving information on some of the Iconic venues for the Paris Olympics
https://olympics.com/en/news/olympic-... and decided to set my task around this.
For this task you must read 2 books. Choose 1 option and read BOTH tasks for that option.
In ALL cases the title tasks mean TITLE ONLY, no subtitles.
No books with Children's MPG or Manga or Graphic Novels allowed
Required: State the option.
Option 1 - The Opening Ceremony
This will take place on the River Seine with the competitors parading in boats.
a) Read a book with a title word of 4 or more letters found in "The River Seine"
Letters may only be used as often as they appear in the phrase.
Required: state the word.
b) Read a book with a small boat on the cover (e.g. a canoe, dinghy, yacht, NOT cruise ship or tanker NOR a toy boat).
Required: post the cover.
Option 2 - The Eiffel Tower Stadium
The Eiffel Tower is nicknamed La Dame De Fer & will host beach volleyball.
a) Read a book with a 4+ letter word in title made from "LA DAME DE FER"
Letters may only be used as often as they appear in the phrase.
Required: State the word.
b) Read a book where the cover shows a beach (sand and water)
E.g.
Required: Post the cover.
Option 3 - La Concorde
Two of the events this site is hosting are 3x3 basketball, and BMX freestyle.
a) Read a book where the letters " BMX " appear anywhere in the title. The letters can appear more than once.
e.g. Arkie's Pilgrimage to the Next Big Thing
This Time Next Year We'll Be Laughing: A Memoir
b) Read a book where there are at least THREE DIFFERENT 3 letter words in the title
e.g. the sun and her flowers (THE, SUN, HER, AND)
Klara and the Sun (AND THE SUN)
Option 4 - Palace Of Versailles
This is hosting equestrian events and modern pentathlon.
a) Read a book with a a word in the title which CONTAINS but does NOT BEGIN with Q
E.g. Masquerade works but Red Queen does not.
b) A series of 5 books is called a pentalogy. Read a book that is part of a series of FIVE and ONLY FIVE primary works. ONLY whole numbers count. The series name must be apparent in greyscale on the GR book page.
This list may help: https://www.goodreads.com/shelf/show/...
You do not have to use this list, it is only there as guidance.
Please be aware that not all the series shelved will work.
Option 5 - Marseille Marina and Teahupo’o, Tahiti
These two venues will host most of the water sports: Marseille Marina for the sailing events and Tahiti for the windsurfing
a) Read a book with a title of two or more words where the title words ALL start with the same letter.
e.g. Terribly Twisted Tales or Gone Girl
b) Read a book where there is a word in the title that ends with a double vowel as in Teahupo’o
e.g. We Are Not Free, Cloud Cuckoo Land OR Hawaii
