Easter long weekend including Good Friday 3rd April to 6th April
Sydney hosts the Royal Easter Show every Easter which is a mix of agriculture, show bags, food, carnival rides, showjumping, arts & crafts, rodeo, fluffy lambs, smelly cows & woodchopping. Everything you can think of really, it goes for about 2 weeks and is held in Sydney Olympic Park.

Read a book set in an agricultural area, whether farming or livestock, incl horses; or a book set in an urban area like Sydney; a book that includes chocolate or fluffy bunnies; a book that has religious overtones, whether good or bad.

ANZAC Day 25 April
Anzac Day commemorates the Battle of Gallipoli, Turkey, in the First World War, fought mainly by Australians & New Zealanders, but also included British, Indian, French and other allied soldiers. This year is the 100th anniversary.

Read a book that includes a war, whether, contemporary or paranormal; a book where your enemy becomes your friend; a group of friends face a major struggle; or where gambling, especially two-up, is enjoyed.

Mother's Day 10th May

Read a book with a mother whether a MC or secondary character; a romance book; where someone gives flowers or cooks breakfast; or flowers on the cover.

Queen's Birthday Long Weekend Monday 8th June
The Queen's birthday is actually 21 April, however, it was decided many decades ago that as it was too close to Anzac Day we would celebrate it the second Monday of June every year.

Read a book with Royalty, whether Kings or Queens, Lords or Ladies; a book with a purple cover; a book with jewellery, dogs or horses on the cover or in the story.

Leigh | 1219 comments Sandra, I am reading The Unleashing (Call of Crows, #1) by Shelly Laurenston now. Love Shelly Laurenston!

message 6: by Sandra, Need more time to Read!! (new)

Sandra | 4734 comments I really enjoyed it, but on reflection I think Hunting Season (The Gathering #1) by Shelly Laurenston is better. Same world building, but written a few years ago. Not sure if you've read it, but if not give it a go.

I haven't read that one. Just added it to my ever growing TBR list. Just finished The Unleashing (Call of Crows, #1) by Shelly Laurenston . I really enjoyed it, but it wasn't her best. A good start to a new series.

message 8: by Sandra, Need more time to Read!! (new)

Sandra | 4734 comments Yeah, The Unleashing (Call of Crows, #1) by Shelly Laurenston doesn't have as much humour in it as the Pride books, but still enjoyable.
