A good mystery overshadowed by a predictable romance
Coming Home to Starr's Fall by Kate Hewitt ⭐⭐⭐ https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Acclaimed Aussie author Michael Robotham's Joe O'Loughlin series is always excellent. The Wreckage takes place between Baghdad, London, and Washington and would be a great read on its own.

The Last Mile
by David BaldacciAmos Decker #2. A convicted murderer on death row is saved at the last minute when another man confesses to the crime. Decker is hired by the FBI to investigate followed by 400 pages of every plot twist imaginable. The plot is over the top and I never believed that any of the characters were real. 2 stars. And by the way, Baldacci is 64 and has published 57 novels under his name.
White Fire
by Douglas Preston and Lincoln ChildCorrie Swanson, the trainee of FBI Special Agent Pendergast, goes to Colorado to research a college thesis. Trouble and danger follow.

Linda wrote: "I haven't been reading much. I was in a car accident 5 and a half weeks ago. My fault but I have substantial injuries and the other party walked away with nothing. "... democracy is misleading, because the Founding Fathers did not care for the word, which is nowhere to be found either in the Declaration of Independence or the US Constitution."They actually designed an aristocracy, so it's no surprise we have The Forever War: America’s Unending Conflict with Itself. Acclaimed BBC journalist and foreign correspondent Nick Bryant writes a fascinating account of how and why we are still fighting it.
My review of The Forever War: America..."
The Story Of "St 25" - Adventure And Romance In The Secret Intelligence Service In Red Russia: Sir Paul Henry Dukes (1889-1967)
Non-Fiction: I doubt there is a better thriller written. This might be difficult to get hold of: Red Dusk and the Morrow, which I read before this is a slightly shorter account of this and easier to find.
Okay, I'm madly in love with the guy. If he was alive today I would be planning how to faint at his feet.

The Roads Chosen,
"I'm swooning... this guy risked his own life... because...
“How guilty will I feel each time I hear more news of more killing, Boris? Good people. Honest people. That’s why I hacked those accounts, Boris. Because it will help to put an end to what's happening and help save lives.”
“Because you want to help?”
“Yes, if I can.”
“Well, you can’t help.”
I haven't found why he can't, just yet. My heart is still pounding and my mouth is dry as the Gobi. He's a scruffy, underfed, shrimp with few prospects other than being of good heart and unselfishly kind. What more could a girl want for?
Reading Japanese Tales of Mystery and Imagination
by Edogawa Rampo. Rampo is the pseudonym for a major mystery novelist in Japan before and after WWII. Here, the first three stories are less in the territory of crime and detection than in his namesakes' (E. A. Poe) territory of odd psychology and twisted passions. Fascinating psychologically, this is the only translation of this book I'm aware of, and it's quite readable.

Albanian Assignment - just finished:
A side of the conflict I knew nothing of. A great read, in the words of the man himself. Said to be one of the finest special forces accounts ever written. I would agree.
