Such a good idea. I have thought about doing this and just never got around to it. I feel like books I add from the newspaper reviews tend to be the ones I let languish on my tbr- I probably should get evidence for that!! 🤭

I like your spreadsheet! It's given me some ideas to add to the one I already use. Mine currently is mostly just reading stats and my owned library but I like the idea of adding challenge tracking.

message 306: by Catsalive (last edited Jan 10, 2024 02:31PM) (new)

Catsalive | 153 comments I loved looking at your spreadsheet, Insiyah. It's almost inspired me to expand mine which just contains what I've read since Jan. 2005. Even so, I think I've managed to miss one occasionally, so perhaps I better not make any changes 😃

I've just realised that I'll have 20 years worth at the end of 2024. How about that!? 😎

message 307: by Jhmingos (new)

Jhmingos | 417 comments This is giving me ideas for my reading journal. I really like Jax's idea about tracking referrals and seeing which one suits my taste.

Does anyone like to do their reading goals in a journal too? I track goals like reading nonfiction, short stories, translated works, etc.

Melanie (mvalente89) | 296 comments Does anyone else want to share their reading spreadsheets if they have them? I'm always looking for ideas to adjust mine (plus I'm a nerd and I just like looking at spreadsheets). Challenge tracking for stuff like UNO is definitely going on the list to add.

Following Insiyah's example, here's mine.

I have a whole seperate reading journal. My reading challenges are in my main journal (pictured above) but i have another that tracks releases, genres, library check outs ( to track money saved) series, my book bracket, my monthly favs, and book reviews.

Im a Virgo so im like organization on steroids lol

message 333: by Melindam (new)

Melindam | 4431 comments Thanks everyone for sharing your precious spreadsheets/ideas, which in turn makes me look like a lazy slob, lol.
I kept an excel table where I tried to collect all the books I read at one point in time and in October 2014 I stumbled on on GR (WOW, that'll be 10 years soon), so I stopped and only tracked my reading here. :)

So many possibilities and ideas. :)

Christina (chrissy__) | 1241 comments I've been using the CAWPILE spreadsheets from Book Roast on youtube for the past few years to track my reading. It comes with a tab with stats which I absolutely LOVE, and a tab to track the series you're reading too, and I've added a couple more for reading challenges /readathons I've joined - most of which I haven't put in any effort to make look pretty though haha

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) Sammy wrote: "OMG Erin! That's an amazing spreadsheet!

It took awhile to set up --- years of adjusting for fun as a hobby.
With it set up now it doesn't take long to keep updated, I mainly move as I read from To be read tab to Read and all the charts and tables auto-calculate, so no work really now unless I want to add and change things, which I randomly do when bored. It's fun. Thanks for the compliments on it, all! I love looking at others spreadsheets as well

Edited to add --- I just started doing the To-be-read tab this year so that one is not complete. I mainly track with graphs and stats my finished, read books, so that one has been around for years and is the easier to keep updated.
