Review:
I know by #38 a series should be getting boring, but these don't to me! I am a big fan of Eve and Roarke and look forward to reading their stories.
In this installment, I really like the fact that Eve (altough still kick ass Eve) is starting to let her emotional side show with the victims and witnesses. Also, that she is accepting her place with Roarke and their large network of friends.
The case had a less than satisfactory ending for the reader and for Eve, but that makes the series more realistic as not everything can be perfectly tied up with a big bow!
As long as Nora Roberts continues to write this series, I can see myself reading them.

I completely forgot about Roarke. I never thought that that series technically counts as scifi romance. I've been neglecting that series so badly, so this is the perfect excuse to pick up the series again.
Going to add the rest in my TBR if they aren't there already XD

Review: It's an entertaining paranormal mystery about a witch/shop owner who's settled in California. It juggles many story elements, such as the mystery, romance, friendships, shop management, and witchy business, and somehow does it all quite well. While the book uses a few common tropes in the cozy mystery genre, specifically the love triangle, I think the author made two (or is it three now?) interesting guys for the love polygon. They also actually took the time to flesh out all these story elements, and I think they nailed it so far. The mystery is kind of whacky and intriguing, and the main character Lily, along with the supporting cast, has a fun personality too.

I was looking for a book for another challenge and wanted to know what the call was for this week before committing! It didn't help me, but that's OK. 😁

review — This installment was a huge surprise and really well done. I’ve been slow to read more of this series after the past few books. They’ve lacked a lot and introduced too many subplots at the same time. This book was focused and once it got going it did not let go. My only real complaint is that there wasn’t more Kitty/Ben time. There were a few short scenes with them, but most of this story was all Kitty trapped in a Montana cabin. I’m hoping the next book doesn’t let me down.

I love the title parody of Clint Eastwood movies! It took a couple for me to realize that is what the titles were drawn from.
Jenks is by far my favorite character of the MANY in the series. He is full of humor and support and is a pixie!! Rachel, our MC, is bit much at times and I really don't understand her issues and overthinking of some things and complete abandon with others! But, I guess that is a bit like real life; we aren't always rational.
I'm not really understanding all the tip-toeing around Ivy and Jenks/Kisten wanting Rachel to be with Ivy to protect/save her . Ivy has had a very hard time, but so have others in the book. I'm really interested to see what all this is about. I hope there is a deeper meaning than just relationship angst!
There was a lot going on in this edition and the ending....

A nice, quick read to pass the time. There is turmoil in the background, with the fae threatened by humans soon discovering how to enter the immortal world and also the possibility of the end of times arriving, but the book focuses more on Tajael and Charlotte's relationship and how the aforementioned turmoil got in between their relationship. The plot is fairly standard, but the way angels were depicted is an interesting take.

We could potentially win with a "Nat'l Fossil Day" call on Wednesday. All of the books/categories up to and including that call would have to be completed to solidify a win.
I need to find something and read it for Week 5. How is everyone doing?

I really like Hailey Edwards books and this series grabbed me from the start, but I have to admit this book is all over the place! There are so many twists and reveals that it was really hard to keep up. I think I may have to read it again before I read the next book in the series.
Just a little background on the story. Luce is adopted and soon finds out that her sisters, are out to get her. Her sisters are sort of legendary....War, Famine and Death! Luce is learning about this world that she is a part of but didn't find out until she was grown. The ancient war is looming and Luce gets a chance to fight back.
Now, this book is getting us caught up about Luce's world. It's just a lot at one time! I want to continue the series so I think I'll re-read this one in the near future!

review — Another good installment in the Dark Protectors series, but not a favorite. The story took a long time to really get started, but by the end I really enjoyed Benny and Karma as a couple. I’ve enjoyed Benny and his antics for the past few books, so it was nice to have a focus on him. I wish there was more of his back story, but learning more about Karma’s life with the Kurgan Nation made up for it.

review — Eve Langlais books always deliver a good dose of heat and humor. This book was no exception! Daryl was a great alpha male character, but it took me a while to warm up to Cynthia. She was so contradictory and I’m not sure I like these two together, but the overall story worked. I look forward to my next visit to Bitten Point!

Review: This was a "don't judge a book by its cover" moment for me. From the synopsis and cover, I was expecting a 3-star read, but I was proven wrong and ended up loving the book and the characters. It's more suspense than romance, with just a bit of paranormal, which is a plus for me. The mystery/suspense part didn't really start until around halfway through the book, and the first half of the book was spent establishing essentially the stage that the book and the mystery takes place in. It felt slow at the beginning, but the characters, the ghost interactions, and the backstories were fun and entertaining enough to offset the slow exposition. After we got past the exposition, it became a lot more fast-paced with all sorts of things happening to Mojo and the people around her. At the end of the book, I enjoyed how all the pieces fell into place at the end.

Review: Another great installment in the series. The serial murder case for this book was relatively more straightforward but still interesting, with Eve being her usual badass self and owning the FBI people who were assigned to her case. I'm glad to see that we also get to see more of Roarke's past and how it was Eve's turn to care for Roarke like Roarke usually does for her. The sweetness was turned up a notch for this book.
