Review:
I've been a long time reader/fan of Stephen King. Some of his books I love, others are okay, and a few I could have been good with never reading. I'll admit that I *almost* didn't pick this book up because I thought the 4th book in the series was grueling to read/listen to.
This book was better than the 4th, thank goodness. My favorite part was the tie back to "Salem's Lot" and hearing Callahan's tale of what happened after that book ended.
Also, if you are a SK fan and watch the shows adapted from him books, you know that he almost always has a cameo in the movie/show. Well, only SK would write himself into one of his own books! I didn't know that was in the book going in, but I'm not surprised! Lol!
Overall, this book was a solid 3 stars....only okay, not great. I will eventually finish the series, but I'm not in any big rush to do so.

Week 7 — November 29 – National Mad Hatter Day

Second Nature: A Thriller, Alice Hoffman – 12/2/23 – ✮✮✮✰✰

review — This was a different type of story from what I usually read, but it was interesting and engaging. It took a while for the story to really get going, but once it did I enjoyed how it all played out. In a rare occurrence, I actually figured out who the real villain was before the reveal…though I was beginning to question myself at the end.

Week 6 — November 22 – Kindness to Animals Day

Mate Claimed, Jennifer Ashley – 12/3/23 – ✮✮✮✮✰

review — Not my favorite couple/story, but still a strong story in this series. There was a lot of new information about shifter traditions and histories that I enjoyed learning about. As for the characters, I really like Eric. He’s a typical alpha-male shifter, but he can compromise as appropriate and shows a great deal of compassion for all in his charge. Iona is my least favorite heroine so far. She refuses to accept who she is while claiming to love her family, but doesn’t acknowledge the danger she puts them in. Then, almost out of the blue, she’s fine with being a shifter and becomes a badass alpha mate…it didn’t work for me. Together, Eric and Iona seem to work, but it feels rather forced. I enjoyed the new characters introduced in this story and am looking forward to their stories!

Woop Woop!!
I'll finish my final book this week.
