For this prompt I am reading Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus. It will be available from library in a couple of days. I have been wanting to read this book for a while, as was recommended by a friend. Hope it lives up to expectations.

I rarely do this sort of challenge all in order, but the first book I read on purpose for this is the first one on the list, One Corpse Too Many by Ellis Peters but it's possible that when I go to add it, the book I finished before this will fit somewhere.
Started off my year with a cozy paranormal mystery that fit like a T (or tea, which was a major motif)Title: Not by Oolong Shot
Author: Eryn Scott
Rating: 4 stars
Shelf: Paranormal Mystery
How it fits the prompt: Title ends with a T
With it being such a chunkster, I missed this being my first finished book of the year (this is why I don't read in order), but I read The Reformatory by Tananarive Due. Harrowing but good.
I read The Lost Journals of Sacajewea. 5 stars. This was an eye opener. I thought I knew a little bit about Sacajewea but realized I knew nothing & the history books in school were terrible. She had a brutal & tragic life. I enjoyed the writing style.
I buddy read The Hanging City by Charlie N. Holmberg with Emily and another friend in our book club. We really enjoyed it, 4 stars across the three of us agreed.I'm doing the challenge twice, so once my entirety of take 1 is completed, I have these listed as potential options for take 2:
Storm and Fury
The Ten Thousand Doors of January
The Things We Cannot Say
Rust & Stardust
The Seven or Eight Deaths of Stella Fortuna
I'm very much a mood reader so not doing the challenge in order but currently have The Marriage Act pencilled in for this one.
I decided to start the year by reading all of Agatha Christie's Hercule Poirot books in order of publication. I wasn't sure if I'd reach Three Act Tragedy during the first week, but I did. Two of the three words in the title end in T and Y, and all three words start with T or A.
I read The Maid's Diary. It ended up being better then I thought it would be. I sold first read of the challenge!
I've done three; the second one here was the first I planned in part for this challenge (well, the third book was my alternate for that one):A book involving a wild animal or endangered species, in the content, title, or on the cover
Title: Miss Melville Rides a Tiger
Author: Evelyn E. Smith
Rating: 3 stars
How it fits the prompt: all types of tigers are endangered, some close to extinction
A book with a title that ends in A, T or Y
Title: One Corpse Too Many by Ellis Peters
Author: Ellis Peters
Rating: 4 stars
How it fits the prompt: Title ends with Y
A book with a main character who is Black, Indigenous, or a Person of Color
Title: This Close to Okay
Author: Leesa Cross-Smith
Rating: 3 stars
How it fits the prompt: Woman protagonist is black, male protagonist is biracial
I am trying to read in order this year and perhaps in keeping with the annual nature of the challenge in a timely sequence.I have read Sanctuary
It fits the prompt and is a stand alone book which is always nice - i have too many half finished series by Nora Roberts / JD Robb.
I enjoyed it but it is not one of my favourites. The balance is wrong in my opinion with the story line getting lost through the multiplle sex scenes involving the siblings from Sanctuary. I realise the author is known for this aspect of her writing but in this case it was just too much
First time doing this challenge, I am DETERMINED to finish it 😋For this prompt I read You Made a Fool of Death with Your Beauty
This is the book I picked for this prompt
short and sweet review: 4.0
This book kept me wondering. I enjoyed the read. The book was about Nella who was an Apothecary and used her potions for men only, when she threatened to use her potions for women everything fell apart. Eliza was the one who saved the day. Caroline was the person who pieced the whole puzzle together.
Title: The Secret Book of Flora LeaAuthor: Patti Callahan Henry
How it fits the prompt: Title ends with a A
Rating: 5*
Also fits: #10 historical fiction; #18 botalical cover; #21 A book with a title containing 6+ words; #24 secondary color on the cover - green
Stowed Away by Barbara Ross 1/7/2024I didn't like this one as much as some of the other books in the series, but it was a good first book for the challenge.
Currently reading Ross Gay’s collection of essays, titled INCITING JOY. (Really recommend, in addition to his poetry & also the two Books of Delight!)
I am reading The Will of the Many by James Islington for this one. I really hope I like it. I see the audiobook version is 28 hours long...
I read The Woman in the Library by Sulari Gentill for this prompt. This was my first book by this author. Four stars. I enjoyed the story. This book would also work for Australian author,
Ecstasy
4⭐
I am trying to use only books that are on my extensive TBR. This has been on it for awhile. I am glad that I finally read it.
I do like the cover as well.
Camilla wrote: "I haven't committed 100% yet, but I plan to be reading A Day of Fallen Night by Samantha Shannon.
It's a whopper with 866 pages, so I ex..."
I read her other one The Priory of the Orange Tree and enjoyed it. It did not feel like a long book. The best ones usually don't.
This one is on my TBR too, so I look forward to your thoughts on the book.
Finally! I finished this prompt before the end of January. Whew. I read Gallant by VE Schwab and gave it 4 stars.
I'm not reading in order, so I've just come to #1. I am reading Russka by Edward Rutherfurd. I've been on a Rutherfurd kick, this is my second of his books this year, and I am completely hooked. Long books but so worth the read.
I read a cozy mystery: Malice in Maggody by Joan Hess for this prompt. I really enjoyed it. It has been on my list forever because it is set in Arkansas which is the state where I was born and grew up. I also have book 2 and 3, and I am looking forward to reading them as well.
I read V for Victory by Lissa EvansThis is the third book of three, which have all been excellent at portraying England during WWII
I read Pet Sematary for the first prompt. This is one of Stephen King's strongest books, in my opinion. Really at the top of his game here.
Lampedusa and CuddyThe first told the story of the writing of The Leopard; set in Palermo at the turn of the C19th it was a beautifully conveyed portrait of a society on the brink of decline and change.
Benjamin Myers's book was set over centuries from Anglo-Saxon times to the present day, and was focused on Durham Cathedral, the eventual resting place of St. Cuthbert. Each time segment was written in a different style - poetic, historical novel, a riff on M R James and a modern novel. I really enjoyed this book.
I just read Chilean Poet by Alejandro Zambra. I was surprised by how much I loved this novel, an unusual mix of poetry, love and step-parenting.
Ends in 'T'
✔ - 05Feb24This Time Will Be Different – Misa Sigiura – 3.5***
This is a charming YA novel about family, social justice, friendship and loyalty. There’s also a little romance thrown in. CJ is a pretty mature teen. Although she frequently doubts herself, she usually follows her inner compass and makes solid decisions. Of course, this is a young adult novel, so there is bound to be some of the drama typical in teen life – prom-posals, mean girls, cliques, attractions based strictly on looks, best friends who maybe aren’t anymore.
