SOLVED. Young Adult fiction with a main character named Avery i think and she’s trying to solve something with this guy and at one part they are at the Louvre in Paris. [s]

Please help me find this book! I read it about six years ago, in a junior high library. It was my favorite book ever but I can only remember a few things about it. I think the main characters name was Avery and she is with this guy and they are trying to solve something. It’s set in modern times, they have phones and stuff. In one part of the book they are at the louvre looking for clues. Another part they are in an apartment building where they think the guys sister is being held but it ends up being a trick and she’s not there. They have a few make out scenes and stuff, one where they are on a street and on their way back to the house, and another where they are on the stairs going to their room. There’s also a scene where she is underground somewhere and I think she might have been wearing a robe or something and she had to slice her hand and drip some of her blood into this box that I think her ancestors have also dropped theirs into and its all stained red for some initiation I think? That’s all I can remember and I’ve searched high and low but can not seem to remember what this book is, I’ve been thinking about it for years and I want to read it again
