Review: This was a fun book for fall. It has romance, drama, and magic. It was three stories of three women staying at the same cottage around halloween. Very enjoyable read, but predictable.

Book: Any Luck at All
Author: Angela R. Casella
Finished: 9/29
Rating: 5 stars
Review: This was such a fun book while also having all of the right emotional tie-ins. I really enjoyed the relationship development between the two main characters, Georgie and River. It was great banter, a fun meet cute (sort of meet cute), and the personalities really meshed well.

Team- I’ve been battling a bad cold but yesterday it finally settled into one ear and my chest. I’ve also been having vertigo attacks due to the ear fullness.
I’ll be on later tonight and tomorrow to go through the thread and consolidate the posts.
I’m sorry I’ve been MIA. It’s been very difficult to sit upright and work on a screen. I’ve got an appointment at the Urgent Care tomorrow to see if I can get an antibiotic.
Thank you all for the help through this week and keeping things running! 😌

Week # 2

The Learning Hours
Rating: 3.5 (rounded to 4)
Review: I like Sara Ney's Douchebag series. I like Sara Ney's books. This was one where I wanted more from both of the characters. I felt that she could have pushed a little bit more from both Laurel and Rhett. The book was well set up with Rhett having a ton of emotional load with a transfer and living with the WORST humans in the world. He slowly comes out of the fog, but he still, essentially, stays still. He doesn't push for more. Which is a little odd given the impetus of his story. Laurel grows as well. She moves on from being pushed and pulled around by what people want of her and starts to see things for who and what they are. Her values change, yet she doesn't say anything or change any of her smaller actions. For a portion of the book, that made sense. Towards the end, smaller actions or speaking up in places would have shown that growth and would have pushed or supported Rhett's growth along as well. It was like an "almost there" sort of story. I liked it, but it was almost written.

Week 2
Option 1
Wasted Words by Staci Hart
Pages: 349
Rating: 2 stars
Date Read: 11/19-11/10
Task: Illustrated cover
Justification:

Review/Notes: I was really hoping for a good book - I love enjoy novels that come from inspiration of other novels or retellings. I was not feeling this one though. I think the major problem I had was the chemistry between the two main characters. They were just so flat and Cam (the main female character) was very unlikeable.

Week # 3

Blind Side
Rating: 5 stars
Review: I'm a little embarrassed that I waited this long to read this book. It was much better than I anticipated. I like a well written fake dating trope and this one hit all of my high points. I liked the sway and shift in the power balance between the characters over the course of the story. I liked that they both grew in unexpected ways. I liked that Giana was a quiet yet well thought out character. She didn't hide from herself and she thought through what she wanted and then proceeded to go after it. It wasn't as in your face as the other characters but it was with the same determination. I appreciated that the other characters in the book recognized these traits - particularly being written as a D1 school and a high valued sport. Seeing the recent addition of the female punter to the NCAA football leauge was lovely to see written into this series. It's a story my family has been following a little as the punter has a soccer background and my eldest is looking into pursuing a career similar in paths to what Giana worked through in this book. I think my kiddo is outright looking at being an agent or PR crisis manager for athletes, but I do know she is already looking to working with the soccer and track teams in the role Giana played in the book - media specialist and PR rep. Clay was a very well written character as well. I wanted to utterly slap his father for just abandoning him outright. If your college aged son is calling you for help - you don't tell him to abandon the only parent that has stayed in his life. You step up and adult. Clay really had some harsh twists and turns in his story. When he finally let his friends in it was like a dam burst. it was more a mid book break up then a 3rd act break up. The rock bottom for Clay kept shifting and shifting. Finally - the only things that really got me was trying to mentally place North Boston University as it was sort of ..... all over the city.

Review: While i have always enjoyed reading this series, up till now, Stormy kind blended in with all the author's other main characters of her other series however I though in this book she has started to stand out more on her own. The mystery itself while still being somewhat predictable had enough difference in it to make it interesting and I liked the journey to the answer the author leaded us on. I felt like the series arc as well took a significant leap forward and I look forward- to seeing where that goes. I also like the constant crossover with some of Amanda M Lee's other series and character even if it does mean i have to keep up with them also. I can't wait to see what is next for Stormy

Week #3

Rating (1-5): 4 stars
Review: I had fallen a little behind with this series as it was moving a little too slowly and getting a little too complicated but i found this instalment got me back into the swing of things. I felt like this book got the series arc back on course whilst providing a nice problem to solve at the same time. Due to crossovers with other series I was a little bit spoiled with this one but I am looking forward to the crossovers to come

Review: This was a re-read for me. I love this series. It is brutal and angsty but the chemistry and love between these characters is a joy to read. If you love bikers, I highly recommend this series. Very similar to sons of anarchy.
