Review: I really liked this book, I like biographies from comedians. Stand-up transfers really well to novels. I would recommend listening to this on audio, he narrates it himself. He talks about his entire career from his 20s to now and it was really facinating.

I enjoyed this. The main character in this book is a ghost. He needs to figure out why he was killed and hope that he will be able to go into the light after this. But it just doesn't happen. He meets other ghosts and finds out he can communicate with the living.
This was an interesting new take on being a ghost and I will keep an eye out for the continuation.

Review:
This is the second book in the Cab Bolton series...I read the first awhile back, and it was one that lead me to reading all of the books in the Jonathan Stride series. I feel the same way about this book as with the others by Brian Freeman. They are very compelling, suspenseful stories with corny writing and annoying characters. Cab Bolton is actually very similar to Jonathan Stride, in that he is a troubled "tough guy" who is just not that interesting. I think this book was a little too long and it took me about 200 pages to even get into it...so that's never good, but once I got into it, I was really into it, and hooked until the end!

WEEK 8: Roll 1: Spot: 63

Book: The Homecoming (ThunderPoint, Book 6)
Read: Done 5/9
Rating & Review: ★★★★.
This book featured "new" characters. Scott and Iris grew up in Thunderpoint and we're best friends until a HUGE miscommunication and event changed their friendship.
Scott went on to be a pro-footbal player and Iris stayed in Thunderpoint. Now Scott's football came to end and he moved back home to take Mac's position as Mac got promoted to Coquille.
When Iris sees Scotf in town all those feelings came rushing back. Can she forgive Scott for the mistake that He made 17 years ago and can they see each other for the grown up people they are now?
I love Therese Plummer as the narrator for these series. While I loved the story, I had issues with the MCs. I can't believe Iris carried a grudge for 17 years and I can't believe Scott didn't work harder to find out why his best friend cut him out of her life. But it was a good story nonetheless

Book: Thomas's Choice (Scanguard Vampires, Book 8)
Read: Done 5/10
Rating & Review: ★★★½.
I was a little disappointed in this one. Eddie was kind of rude when he found out about Thomas' feelings. His shift from heterosexual to bicurious was too fast. It wasn't smooth. I thought Thomas deserved someone who thought he was the cat's meow.
However, I do like the emergence of an anti Scanguard group. It makes for a vampire civil war, so I like that new direction

I read a lot of YA. This is more a children's book than YA in my opinion. It is sweet enough, quite cute and has some funny parts in it. It is too sweet for me and her daydreaming about being a superstar at the same time as she doesn't want to be a princess is a bit too stupid. I don't think I will read more in this series.

I was between giving this one 3 or 4 stars. I gave it 4 because I enjoyed reading it so much. It was so suspenseful, I had a hard time putting it down. Of course, with Sophie Hannah, you're going to get some craziness but the ending was soooo crazy that it made no sense. It didn't come together for me. I don't want to spoil the ending by going into detail, but I think there were too many tricks thrown in to throw the reader off. It worked, but was a let down in the end. Overall though, 400 pages of excellent reading was enough for a 4 star rating.

This was good but a bit too technical. I like the main guy Shiloh who gets these visions that help him in battle and also his relationship with the Artificial Intelligences. It kind of ends on a cliffhanger which I wasn't quite ready for and that was a pity.

Review:
Would never have read this book if I realized it was about zombies! I just kept seeing it everywhere and thought i'd give it a shot, but it was really not good. In the beginning, I thought it might have potential but once I hit the middle, I just kept praying for it to end. This book had nothing to offer...except zombies. No character development, no plot twists, no surprise ending, just...nothing. Finishing it was torture, and I would not recommend to anyone except those who buy into this zombie craze.

Book: Life, Some Assembly Required (Alt. Read, Dog on the cover)
Read: Done 5/17
Rating & Review: ★★★★.
This starts literally the week after Ryan saved Mark from the fire and the guys are still recovering from the arson attack. All three are having nightmares and trying to readjust when Ryan's dad invites them for a visit.
Ryan's dad is having difficulty accepting his womanizer son is bisexual and he wants to meet Ryan's partner. This trip starts an avalanche of things that threaten the stability of Ryan and John's relationship. While they were able to withstand the pressure, they took some emotional hits from their families. This was a good sequel and i was glad to revisit the guys. I look forward to trying new books from KH.

My week has been pretty bad, my niece passed away and so family has been here all week. Funeral was today. Since people need rides to airport and the like, I will be sparse. I will try to check in every once in a while.

Review: Interesting book, I got this one from a "forgotten authors" book thread and it was free on kindle so I decided to give it a shot. For being so old, it was pretty readable and reminded me of some of our current historical romance novels.

This was a sweet romance with a bit of suspense. Both Shelley and Jake need to make some decisions about their future. I liked the group of senior citizens at the camp site.
