Glad I'm not just crazy. :D
I worked 65 hours this last week. Monday was my only day off. This week I have a 50 hour week, so I might miss stuff with my crazy vision eyes. :P
I've considered an audio book while I'm cleaning cabins. I won't actually pay any attention to it so it would be just like I was sleeping. :) I guess I actually prefer to know what's happening in my books.
Allison Ann wrote: "I've considered an audio book while I'm cleaning cabins. I can't really clean and listen to the book. I can listen to music and clean but not clean and listen to a book. I walk around too much that I'd lose information and then get frustrated and have to backtrack it and start it up again. So it's best if I pay attention to my books.
I have pushed through some books and didn't retain a lot because they bored me. Then I'd have to reread the page. Nightmare.
At least with a paper book you can go back and see what you didn't retain, with an audio book how do you possibly find where you stopped paying attention?
I finished
which is a red cover. :)Spreadsheet is updated. Bookshelves are checked.
255 points. 2 letters away from our 3rd spell out. Need "s" and "l" book.
Allison Ann wrote: "At least with a paper book you can go back and see what you didn't retain, with an audio book how do you possibly find where you stopped paying attention?"lol, you just start over. i did that before. I like to get audiobooks of books I've read. That way I already know the story and can listen to the narrator with characters. Sometimes I'm surprised that I get a different experience from it. I tend to do that at night before going to bed but it sure takes longer to get through the audiobook. I had a totally different experience from Not My Father's Son: A Memoir and Yes Please. They added so much more than then the book. Still the book added a lot more with photos and different things. With Yes, Please there was a lot of guest speakers.
I have four more books for my Bunny in the RPG game. I will have them done by the end of this week. I'm working on one of the books right now.

good small town romance with some realism
Updated the spreadsheet and checked bookshelves. 265 points. :)I will be finished with my book in about an hour. That will finish out third spell out. Great job everyone!
I had an unexpected distraction that took away 3 hours of my prime reading time tonight. Arrrggghhh! I realized that my Red book will not work anyway. It would only work for "T." No characters. In China, it is referred to as The Red Book. That is not how it is called here. So, since we do not need a "Q" or "M," I will hold off on that one. But, did finish the last of The Giver series (I love them!)Book: Son
Author: Lois Lowry
Pages: 393
S: (title)-Son
C: (character)-Claire
A: (character)-Alys
R: (character)-Rolf
L: (author)- Lois Lowry
E: (character)-Einar
T: (character)-Trademaster
That finishes my next to last "legal" books for the week. Off to be a renegade soon. How many books can I "listen" to tonight while I sleep? :-) Hmmm. Just don't get it. I thought that these were reading challenges, not check off books challenges. Very sad to me.
Oh, and my next book, Sad Cypress works for every letter again. It is nice to be able to find books we can use in several ways.
Updating now! Just finished two more and added to the spreadsheet.Finished

The "E" for Sad Cypress on the spreadsheet should be Elinor, not Einar (who is in Son). The "T" is Ted.
Got it Cheryl. Thanks for pointing it out. Sometimes when typing it out it auto-fills. I noticed that a few times. You have erase the auto-fill to type in the word. Weird, Google spreadsheet.
I finished
.This is a brilliant story. I loved it. I saw it when it was first released and a huge sale at the scholastic book fairs. I've eyed the book so many times but read it now. Amazing book.
315 points.

I was pleasantly surprised with Rules. That was a great book. I'm not sure if kids will like it but I found it wonderful and it reminded me so much of the kids I work with.

Cheryl, I was wondering if you would please mark Son as read in your bookshelf. I don't see it there. That doesn't mean it isn't there. :P My eyes might be playing tricks on me again.
Michelle - next time you're in the spreadsheet I noticed that you have the wrong reason for Twilight. :)

Thanks, Rachel! I missed it when I swapped letters around.
Sorry about not getting that moved to read. I was working on getting it logged into any of my reading challenges that it can work for and got distracted in the middle of doing that and then forgot to move it to "Read." Sorry. Kind of like walking into a room and not remembering why you came there anymore...
Cheryl wrote: "Sorry about not getting that moved to read. I'm happy I checked the bookshelves. I was like oh goodness!

I am nearly finished with a book called Counseling Suicidal People by Paul Quinnett. It only works for "C." Sorry. Needed to get it read for my convention work. (I am a suicide prevention trainer.)
We are doing awesome. I just finished The Vines. It was a BOTM for one of my other groups. I enjoyed it. Anne Rice was my first grown up book author I read. When in 7th grade I switched over from Fear Street (R.L. Stine - before goosebumps), Christopher Pike, and V.C. Andrews to Anne Rice and her Vampire Chronicles. Loved them, I read everything she wrote and that I could get my hands on. This is before the internet. She had a huge impact in my world and escape. It was great so to read her son's book was just amazing. I felt the same way with Joe Hill (Stephen King's son) and Max Brooks (Mel, Brook's son). Amazing these men are part of my generation. I noticed they all have common genres. :P
Cheryl wrote: "I am nearly finished with a book called Counseling Suicidal People by Paul Quinnett. It only works for "C." Sorry. Needed to get it read for my convention work. (I am a suicide prevention trainer.) "That's a tough job. For one of the parenting classes (designed for parents of middle school aged children called communities that care-housed through united way) I co-taught we had a section about suicide prevention. University of Washington helped pilot this parenting class. It was successful but we had a huge panel of community members and UW professors to help with what direction we needed to be focuses on. It's one of those touchy subject that if done wrong or talked about in the wrong direction it causes more suicides. So, I was thankful we had a lot of experts behind us.
Updated the spreadsheet. 365 points. We are two letters into our 5 spell out. So far we have read 30 books! We are rocking this Team Ruby!
I need to go to the library, I hate every book I have to read right now. I think I need something fluffy.

I don't know what it is about KA books, but once I start one, it is hard to put down. Wild and crazy characters and situations with gorgeous alpha males all over the place.
Thanks Diane, it really held my interest, which is a nice change. And there was no happy ending for the stupid people, which made me happy. :DNow I'm reading
which is somewhat bizarre and dated but so far fairly interesting. I'm not 100% sure I didn't read this in my teens, but I remember nothing about it if I did. Plus it will finish off a challenge to read a book published from every year I've been alive. And so far has the letters RLET.
Too funny! I just went on the spreadsheet to add the books and Rachel is typing at the exact same time as me. It's like there is a ghost in there.
LOL that's funny. I was just plugging away. Sorry. I just got off work and thought I should enter in the books read for today. :P
I have them added in. Sorry Michelle.
I will have my book finished soon. I'm reading
. I'm really enjoying the book but didn't get to read much today because of work. I'm hoping to get some reading in tonight and two books tomorrow and two books Saturday.
We are at 385 point right now and just need three books to finish our fifth spell out. Awesome job Rubies!

I can get a stream of audiobooks going while I'm at work. I can shell out about 50 books a week doing that. :P
